Rs4 Suspension........ Again!!- Advise- Help !!

Post by TinTin1201 » Mon Mar 29, 2010 4:55 pm

Hi guys ........ new to this.... so if you can bear with me.

Advise on My B5 Rs4(Noggy Blue)....Ride Height-Suspension upgrade.

At the moment the Suspension is standard, with the standard 18" wheels.I've just purchased a set of Original B7 Rs4 wheels 19"(i think the 18" look just too small for the arches,& i've had 18" 9-spokes on my S3 for Five years- Car now sold!).

My Rs4 rides too high & i want too drop the height,I've talked to Doug a few times at MRC(after my Rs Health check...... flying colours,no probs at all)....
He rates the Billstien Pss9 very highly.....Bit pricey though!..... any thoughts on other makes ?????/ or lower springs(also spoke to Kim Collins at QST).

# Pro & Cons of Coilovers against Just Springs.(Had MTM Lowering springs on my S3)

Many THX

Have to agree the PSS9's get my vote - test drove a car sitting on KW's and they were pants in comparison. Would recommende the H&R ARB's (with drop links from MRC) for the complete handling package though.

How about simply lowered springs with the OEM shocks?

ARBs are a definite also. I have the Hotchkis kit.

i would go with the pss9`s and upgraded arbs also makes a BIG difference well worth the extra cash as you can set them up just how you want them

PSS9's without a doubt if budget allows, or go for H&R springs.....very good!

H&R springs offer like 40 mm drop - that seems like a lot. Anyone fitted these to a B5?

Just measured the distace between the wheel arch to the top of my alloys..... 20mm does'nt seam much of a drop to make much difference,& 40mm looks like the Wheels will be tucked under the arches.I've not put the 19" wheels on yet.

As i mentioned before,my former S3 had MTM Spring's with a 20mm drop-Looked just right!,(& the RS is alot bigger & i suppose heavier !)(spoke to Kim Collins-Qst want about £370+ just for a set)

# Has anybody got any pics of an RS4 with Sus drop -Before & after ??
