B7 Brake swap question

Post by prosty » Thu Dec 10, 2009 9:35 pm

Hi! I've tried searching but language barrier may be the reason for me not finding anything about this :)

Bare with me.

I'm soon swapping out my b5 brakes for b7 setup. I have calipers, caliper carriers (adapter plates) and B7 365mm rotors. My question is. does the stock b5 adapter plate bolts fit the thread of the b7 adapter plate, and does the b5 brake lines fit to the b7 calipers? If not must I get the b7 stock bolts and hoses (or just get my own braided lines at the hydralic dealer) ?

I hope you understand my questions. Thanks

Markus

Yes you can use the same bolts.

Ideally best to use brake lines from the B7 too.

For this "caliper carriers (adapter plates)" is this a OEM part? if yes anyone have the part number?
or is this a custom part to have it fitted to a B5?

thanks

AFAIK you can't buy the adapter plate seperately.

Forgot to check the P/N of the adapter plate, but there was a number on it!
THe b5 brake lines worked quite ok, I'm going with steel hoses later but I cannot afford it yet, and I just wanted to put the goddies on so I can start to stop :)

Hi Prosty, I recently upgraded to the B7 setup. The guys at International Brakes (dts@brakesint.co.uk) made a set of braided lines with SS connectors all for £15+VAT per side. Very professional service and very high quality lines. PM me and I'll send you some pics of the lines that were made.
