Take it to my local dealer and they will check them for you and see if they are buckled. If they are and are deemed to be in good nick then you will get new wheels.

Bit of a noobie question, but does this buckeling of the alloy wheels hard or soft only happen to the standard RS4 styled rims on the B5 variant or is it accross the model ranges and the different wheels ?

Do you mean they'll replace hard wheels too?

From my research last time, the hard wheels are covered by the 2 year Audi parts manufacturer warranty

it's only the wheels fitted to the RS4 that are troublesome and available in hard and soft compounds. The buckling was apparently a deliberate feature of the wheel as it was seen as better than having a damaged tyre which the driver wouldn't be aware of until it blew out while a buckle can be felt.

No I mean they will check soft wheels and if they deem them to be buckled and with little or no damage (kerbing) then they will send them away and get a claim in for you. They checked mine but they were too damaged to be worthy of a claim and I later found out that they were hard wheels anyway and over two years old.

Remember Audi will only change soft rims IF they are buckled, NOT if they are straight.

Saw mine spun by hand on a ramp and the deformation was obvious, can't believe I couldn't feel it!

I was advised by Audi CS that the wheel exchange programme is linked to each car's VIN, thus effectively limiting each car to one set of replacement hard (for soft) wheels.

That said I have seen it noted that early RS4 owners must have found a way around this in the early days of the programme, and had multiple sets of wheels in their garage.

Sounds right, one change to hard and that's it.

..but you could in the past have had any number of soft wheels

F**k all progress today
Waited until 5pm to hear from Birmingham Audi but nothing so rang Audi CS to see if they would intervene and speed things up, they said contact the retailer.
So called them and the chap dealing with it isn't in today! I am sure he said he'd be in touch today.
This is almost becoming annoying, I mean how hard can it be for them to retrieve this information?

They'll probably try anything to wriggle out of it!

You best just keep on top of it!

Good news!
Thank you to Richard at Birmingham Audi (0121 746 5500) who has confirmed that the goodwill policy still applies and was keen to listen to my background info.

I am booked in next week for the assessment and even get a courtesy car for free.

What still concerns me is that I can't feel the deformation which was the idea of the soft wheels yet visibly it's bloody obvious.

Will report back.
