Its not a waste- if you didn't spend it on the car you'd only find yourself frittering it away on luxuries like food and heat.

I guess you never make money on a car, but after watching a mate lose £15k in 7 months on a 2nd hand Cayenne i'm thinking the B5 looks almost like an investment!

Cheers

I would avoid an accident damaged car no end. It's a sign of neglect imo and it's not straight at all.

There must be some seriously underlying damage on that one surely?

I'm not brave enough to go for the accident damaged one!

I had a friend who bought a damaged 996 for what he thought was a good price, but by the time he fixed it to a decent standard he'd near enough spent what he would of on a undamaged one. He's also got the stigma of a Cat D car to get round when he sells it.

I've got some cars on the radar, and have made initial contact with some sellers, but Im still trying to learn a bit more before I jump in.

Thanks for all your help so far, its nice to join a noob friendly forum for once!

Cheers

Looks nice. Good spec and the bonus of new brakes all round.

Recognise the ad - the bit about the bad back - it may have been up for more money a couple of months ago.

regarding the black one on auto trader this has been up for sale for a while, firstly on flea bay starting at 8500. here they advertised that the b pillar would need pulling.
spoke to a friend of mine who carrys out accident repair work and he seemed to think it had suffered more than a minor knock as they advertise. which is obviuos realy

if the price can be brought down by a fair bit surely it would be worth it for parts. im no expert though

Generally speaking I'd agree but you'll be surprised, I saw 3 absolute sh1tters before I found mine. I appreciate that I paid over the odds for my car but it was nigh on the exact spec I was hoping for and I went with my heart (which is usually wrong in the long run!) as I do a lot with my cars and I'm very happy.

Had a bit more in the budget than you though so could be a little picky. I've ended up with a standard 62k mile black with black leather/piano/sunroof/tv, 1 demo + 1 other owner FASH X reg car. Only other thing I'd have wanted was a few subtle mods (brakes, susp, power) so I won't have to spend out on them myself!

Best of luck!

Not guilty!

roi354- That sounds really nice, Other than the piano (i prefer the carbon) that is my perfect spec. can I be cheeky and ask what you paid for that? PM if you prefer.

Many Thanks

Not at all, it was up for £18,990 but had worn front disks/pads and wanted 2 tyres. The DIS was also a bit flakey. I paid £18k.

As I said, I know I paid over the odds but it was what I wanted, and so be it!
I've since had 4 goodyear F1s but still not needed to change the brakes just yet. DIS was sorted by the "cardboard under the module trick" by my very own hands :D

A good friend of mine has one the same but with carbon and no sunroof that I believe he is considering selling. Also has the MRC remap plus milltek. I can ask for you (he's on here too but rarely posts)?
