Could someone please tell me what the strange noise is when the guy goes into 2nd gear?? I`ve heard nothing like this before but it sounds awesome!!

sounds like a rev limiter or anti lag,to help get a good change into second gear without losing boost from very big turbos or turbo by the sounds its making

Sounds like the rev liimter when he's missed the shift into 2nd.

Yep, definately mooed the shift to 2nd........... very embarrasing with all that 'build up'

Sorry, but no! 900Bhp highly modified, has launch control and traction control (same as MotoGP bikes and F1 last year). Think it's got sequential gearbox too, changes gear faster than you can blink.
Popping and banging at start is anti-lag to give boost on launch (programmed ECU). Same programme has the traction control which cuts the ignition safely [to limit the power] to let the wheels just spin a little bit for maximum grip/traction. Remember 900Bhp is about 2 1/4 times more power than a normal RS4. By the time he gets third gear the tyres can cope.
Launch Control & Traction Control means the driver just floors the throttle and electronics do the rest, he just flips a lever to change gear, but foot still to the floor. ECU cuts the ignition for milliseconds whilst the gear is selected electronically.

Yeah I've seen that clip loads and it's almost clutch slippage or as other said a poor gear change!
Love to see it go through a smooth one and on a long run. You can see the power as it drops down and hugs the tarmac!

Still saying that video is a shocking gearchange. If its "meant" to do that with all those gadgets then it needed setting up properly as it clearly was not working correctly that day!
