Pressure tested, got leaking injector seals....

Post by neckarsulm » Sat May 30, 2009 7:04 pm

Finally got my pressure tester off Ebay and it seems to work fine.

Noticed some leak from top of inlet manifold and after pouring some water it was obvious that the injector seals on cylinders 2 and 5 were leaking.

Anyone know how easy they are to replace and also if this would have much of an impact on performance?

Thanks

Hi Neckarsulm,

sorry cant help with your question but I have just ordered one of those from ebay, what did you use to put air into the system, the blurp on ebay states a tyre inflator not a footpump ??

cheers

I bought a 2.5hp air compressor from Aldi for £80 a few weeks ago and it works a treat.
Works on normal 240v and does the job.
Can also be used for inflating tyres and as a pressure washer and also useful for just blowing out the crap from spark plug recesses before replacing plugs.
You do need at least one of these for the pressure tester to work properly, a foot pump or even a 12v portable compressor wont work.

I did mine today. Had a massive leak from the top of one of the intercoolers went to take it apart to clean and refit and the jubilee clip wasn't even done up!! the hose was only push fit i guess it couldn't blow off as it is sandwiched between the two points.

Certainly feels more responsive.. shows i dont drive it that hard as i hadn't noticed..

So much for the benefits of a FASH... w@@kers..
