How quick is a tuned RS4? 0-100mph?

Post by kn9 » Sat May 16, 2009 11:58 am

Was just reading the RS6 forums and a fellow who just got his C5 RS6 back from Grizz for a remap, exhaust and suspension bits measured his car on GPS:

0-60mph 4.1s
0-100mph 8.9s
30-50mph 1.4s
50-70mph 1.9s

I would like to ask how would a tuned B5 RS4 compare?

Maybe if it had remap, gutted precats+decats, fmic = 470-480hp?

What about the slightly more extreme cars, like Jimbos or the 580-600hp cars that MRC has done?

Anyone measured their times?

I know it probably doesn't mean much in the real world but just would like an idea.
Thanks all.

All i know is that a standard one did it in 10.9 s according to a roadtest against an E46 M3 and a 996.

B7? That's crazy.

I have a shitty MAF and still managed to nicely beat my friend's B7 with modified intake, full exhaust and remap.

And all I have now is a remap and walbro pump.

I know don't sound right Sql_RS4 even though i fluffed a couple of gearchanges I still couldnt make any decent ground on him. Although in defence of the B5, he wasn't making massive ground on me say 1 car length and I know for a fact he was canning it. So thats some form on consolation! :)

Sql_RS4 - how do you know when you have a crap MAF? Although I got a new one fitted few months back. Can you check via VAGCOM?

Mate, you def have to get your car mapped – you won't look back!!

Get your car down to MRC for a health check, exhaust and map 8)
then the B7 will be in your rear view mirror

I had avery good tussle with a "modded" B7 Avant and believe me it was close. A series of straights and twisties so a fair fight indeed.

In the end he pulled along side and we exchanged our views on each others cars. Both dropped into second gear and floored it, that is when he was well and truly in my rear view mirror....

I've pulled a car length away from Jim's B7 and his was second best performer on the organised RR day the other week so I can assure you that a standard B5 should be good against a standard B7.

I reckon sub 10 seconds to a ton on a good dry run in a well modded B5.

Err contigo your re mapped b5 pulled A car length on a b7! I would say that suggests a std b5 certainly wouldnt come out favourably with 40-50bhp less (std) I spent all day in and out of my stg 3 470bhp b5 and a std b7 my outcome was the b5 was faster in a straight line but in every other area the b7 is far superior and a superior A to B performer, the posts here already suggest that once corners are in the frame even tuned b5s are in trouble against b7s.

I have driven a standard and modded rs4 and the difference is massive, I also drove my
mates b7 and was a little dissapointed. They look ace, handle ace and are miles better interior
wise but didn't feel to quick.Maybe cos its so smooth, but i wouldn't swap.
As for the handling alot of that will be driver ability but in standard form the b5 handling is crap
compared to the b7.

I did o-60 in 4.12 at international last year,i'm hoping for sub 4 if poss this year, less weight with the pole positions fitted.

I know what you mean about the b7 not feeling quick, youve hit the nail on the head about the smooth linear power delivery its deceptive.

Lucas, what mods was he running for his 460bhp?

P.S. My wife drove my car for the first time since getting it back from you the other day - she found the extra grunt rather addictive! I need to hide the keys methinks...
