S6 2001 Spring Failure?

Hi Chaps i hope all's well at your end?

Its not all hunky dory here.
My pride and joy got clouted by a delivery driver, lucky for he he stopped and anyway its in the garage getting a new arse etc.

5 weeks later and i'm still the 58 plate Range Rover courtesy car (i created a bit to get it, well 4wd and a TV same as mine!) the garage phoned to say there was a bit of a problem.

The front drivers side has collapsed, apparently the spring has given way?

Pull the other one - unless you know different?
Mines done 117k miles so perhaps time has taken its toll on the springs, but really has anyone heard of this happening?

Any thoughts would be gratefully received.
