will prob get sown to sorting out some dynamating once i get time!

didn't think of going for some aftermarket speakers and head unit then?

i don't want to change the headunit as it would spoil the look of the dash. I'd like aftermarket speaker but you never get that much of an improvement unless you give them more power and the 4" dia in the doors doesn't make for a big sound anyway.

yeah fair enough, i understand the reason to keep things looking stock.

can still get some good sound from slightly bigger speakers with adaptors. especially if you made the effort in getting it all deadened etc.

My rear doorcard speakers are now proper fecked so it's time to either go for a suitable aftermarket speaker or it's a PM to you Virdee for a cheeky deal from VAG.

Any alternatives that don't require cutting / chopping about?

Not sure about the rs but on my B5 t sport quattro avant it was n/s rear quarter its all one unit, sub, amp and even the multi cd changer is mounted on it. I've not checked my rs but I presume it will be the same. Have fun!!!

I've now dynamatted the sub enclosure and boot floor. Again the Bose is sounding much better but i've actually lost rumble of supersprint! So tomorrow i'm going to strip out the dynamat around the exhaust area and hopefully get a balance of exhaust to music just right......

not necessarily - when i get round to sorting the audio i'll be changing all the speakers, sub and amp - but maintaining the OEM look. massive changes to quality and power of sound can be made whilst still adhering to the original fittings.

the speakers in the car are not actual BOSE units anyway - from what i understand BOSE just allowed audi the licensing rights to call them BOSE. not that it'd make much difference if they were BOSE units anyway!!

it would work very well in masking the milltek drone, i'm really surprised how quiet the car is now and how punchy the bose is.
