..in Leeds?
It was £17995 now £11K which if it's only the wheels at fault seems fair.

Looks like a nice car. He really needs to get the right rims though, it looks awful.
Probably 225/40/18 tyres as well

Me too, not a good example and needs lots doing to it. Guess the price reflects that

I went to look at it and while im no expert it does seem to need a fair bit.
its still on the original dv's, the maf needs replacing, I think the thermostat is shot and the dis has loads of lines missing. Its in need of new front disks and although its advertised as just having had a cambelt change seller didn't provide any documentation to back it up. Its been on long life service all its life and the first cambelt change was done at 65K. It also doesn't come with the jack/kit but has a spare wheel rather than the foam and has a towbar fitted.

Also from memory the advert has it as being theirs for 2 years but the v5 has it owned by someone down in the south west and they brought it just over 18months ago

On the plus side its a good spec and the bodywork seems clean

When I looked at it the dealer seemed uninterested in doing any deal (at that point it was up for 13K) and had about the worst attitude I've seen in a secondhand car dealer.

I walked away and I've ended up with the bigOs car. :)

Have viewed the car a while ago, leaves alot to be desired, not a very nice example, not able to test drive, has had paint and wheels are supposed to be original just refurbished???, drove along way to view on a promise the car was mint, so glad I walked away. Don't take my word for it go and see car, if ur looking for an rs4 regardless I suppose seems cheap.

..sounds like a shed to me.
It's always worth paying a bit more for a good one and a good one with over 100k wont be an awful lot more.
Cheers for the feedback 8)

Hi, guys - I have only just read this thread shame I did'nt before buying it! Except in my opinion the body work is very tidy especially for its age and mileage. And yes it did look stupid on the rep wheels with 35 offset, but when I pointed this out to the seller it turned out it came with a mint set of genuine RS4 rims with excelent Dunlop SP9000 tyres all 6mm plus tread! I paid a good bit less then the asking price and has a set of rep RS4 wheels to sell which should get me another couple of hundred quid back!

I must admit I was worried when I first read this thread but after visiting UNit 20 yesterday for a full health check it looks like a got a bargain as Martin said it was very tidy for the age and said it was one of the straightest he had seen when looking underneath the car at the suspension subframes alignment etc! Oil coolers, intercoolers turbos etc all very good.

Yes it did need a MAF and new dump valves and had a very minor boost leak but all fixed and tip top condition for about £200. And it also wants front disks but I planned on doing a big brake conversion anyway.

The spec if good, the colour I wanted, accident free, good history, Nav plus, Phat noise, Blue tooth phone prep and is pretty tidy inside and out especially for the age I have seen much worse 60k examples.

Yes its not perfect but it was very cheap and seems a nice genuine car some people maybe dont like to accept you can get a decent RS4 albeit high mileage for well under £11k (for fear of affecting residuals) but we are in a recession and the garage selling the car by their own admission where really struggling which are all exceptional circumstances that in my opinion made this car a genuine bargain.

Dont get me wrong I am not saying it better then a £20k 50 k mile example but is not the dog some would have you believe in my honest opinion. If you want I can put up some detailed photos this weekend to try and prove she is not a dog!!

I bet it will blow up now I have said this but just wanted to stick up for my new baby - which looks awesome now I have put on the propper rims, if anyone wants the reps they will be appearing on ebay soon!

Small world.
Thanks for letting us now that's it's OK, as you say exceptional circumstances have got you are bargain though I do wonder whether if it had been advertised on the right wheels, whether they'd have sold it sooner and for more? Why put the reps on it?
Anyway well done for getting it checked over asap and may you have many years happy motoring
