HELP?
Hello
Have virtually bought an 01 RS4 from a guy in Biggin Hill, silver. Its done 59k miles and has FSH with Audi and a few at Fontain (including cambelt). Ray West has re-mapped it to 446 BHP and it has AP Racing brakes up front. Looks very nice and aside from no Sat Nav it has full black leather, 6 cd, piano trim etc.
Sorry to ask but in the current climate what would you expect to pay for this? I have lost a fortune this year selling my Noble (-£7k) and Elise (-£3k). Having owned both cars for less than six months each.
Love the RS4 avant, always have.
Any help most appreciated. Committed to it, as hate wasting people's time, just need a little re-assurance!
Happy Motoring

hi SPOONMAN, quick browse of the cars on pistonheads will give you an idea of prices - basically the market has folded.......its a buyers market cars are not selling - forget what anybody says - autotrader and the like are proof of this.....
but welcome to the rs club its addictive when u get in!

I did buy an RS without having it checked just because I got it for a very good price but expected to spend a bit of cash on it, which I have had to.
Next time i'd have it checked over anyway just as a bit of a heads up

It depends how long you plan to keep it. With some of the prices, I just woudn't sell mine for these sums considering what I paid for it almost 2 years ago. I think there would be plently on here with the same view, it's just not worth selling. However, once this credit crunch/economy situation changes (and it will), cars like this I believe will actually go up from where they are at the moment. So if you plan to keep it, to find a nice low mileage modified example like that - go for it!!! At the moment, the RS4 is a lot of bang and exlusivity for your buck!!

Hahaha you should see the state of it right now!
Was planning on a good ol' wash and wax last weekend but had to look after my son instead.
Hopefully I'll have a chance to wash it, add the splitter and maybe black the front grill to compliment the black optics pack fitted to mine

I've been looking into sorting myself a detailing kit and giving it a go.
There is an award winning detailer not too far from me that I have thought about going to but his price starts from £350

How many cambelt changes has it had? Every 4 years without fail. If previous owners are pushing that then question their commitment. £14K right now is what you should pay and there are a few good ones out there. Go for a later model as the gearboxes are stronger, above all have fun they are fab cars!!!
i paid 13k a month ago for one with 99k miles on it. Luckily for me S4INT(Paul) came and looked it over for me, including Vag.com
I fell in love with it when i saw it and like a love struck teenager would have got it anyway.
Luckily its already mapped(money saved) and has Milltek downpipes and cats but after tonight want a brake upgrade.
Think yours is a bargin with the mods. bargin without aswell.

Thanks very much. From what i can gather VAG.com is a system of plugging a computer, with the correct software, into the ECU and reading any potential problems - is this vaguely correct?? Diagnostics test. Have typed it into the web (didnt know what Id get to be honest!) but no joy.
Is this as simple as going into an Audi dealer and paying a set fee or is it a specialist bit of kit?
The car has got a transferrable warranty for a year (not Audi) which does give me peace of mind.
If its got a full history then surely there cant be much wrong can there. Sounds naive I know but they are pretty bullet proof I thought. My old Noble used to make a different noise everyday but then it was more kit race car than production car. Part of the RS4 appeal to me is its dependability.
