Not really a new topic...B5 rattle on manifold, i bought a set of nice tubular stainless manifolds for £150 on ebay. care should be taken because they dont fit very well and it has just cost me another £100 to get them modified. while the engine was out we decided to treat it to o few new parts..Cam belt kit, waterpump, silicon hoses, clutch kit, top end gaskit set and a damn good clean.
can anybody sugest any futher work before the unit goes back in
thanks

It really is a case of you get what you pay for with these ebay manifolds.

For the cost of these things, couldn't the standard items be de-burred and improved?
I had similar experience with a V8 Range Rover. Apparently the thermal expansion coefficient of stainless steel is a bit excessive for use as an exhaust manifold, causing sealing and clearance problems. Also, anything that increases the temperature under the bonnet can't be a good idea, can it?
