RS4 stays at home, how about some new stuff for spring?

I've been on the fence with my RS4 for a while. I thought I wanted to sell it but never got round to put an ad so I realised deep inside of me I probably do not want to get rid of it.

Anyway last night I made a decision I will keep it for winter and try to get some toys to mount in spring.

So I've been looking around and found this exhaust..

Here are some pics:









I know it ain't no milltek, no supersprint but with nice price and actually even with downpipes included. The thing isI am not an expert so I have no idea if it is good.

What do you guys think?

I also found a Carbon Airbox which I heard is good when you add new exhaust - any of you here use a big carbon airbox? Is it any good?

I am also debating whether I should get my car lowered or not, we don't have too many good roads here in Poland but I like the looks of lowered rs4s... so I figured I might try the set of MTM lowering springs, they are not too expensive so would be good to check if it would work before droping money into a pro suspension or something. They lower the rs4 up to 25 mm - on emore time - anyone with such springs? They can be used with oem shocks.

Thats look miles better built than a milltek, and the finishing looks better than a Supersprint!

Just because it's shinny does not make it good , The first thing thing that's very wrong is the lack of a flexi joint !!!

i was looking at the quality of the welds, the end plates of the cans, the supplied clamps etc and commented as such. The one above maybe be a marketing pic?

What is a flexi joint?

I also wonder if it is OK that pipes seem to have differing diameters in places where they meet other pipe like in vacuum cleaner. It might be bad for gas flow or not?

Also pipes are listed to be 60 mm - is it enough? I have seen some that are like 84 mm...

Yours has flexi joints , The top one has got a lot of reducers on the joins , very bad for flow .

It looks just like the XS Power kit. That's what I've fitted to my S4 and I reckon if you don't mind spending a bit of time getting it to fit right then it's worth every penny. The welds are as good as in the pictures. It's a really sweet sounding system as well.

It doesn't have flexi's as such, but the joints at the bottom of the downpipes do move even when tightened up, and they don't leak.

If I had to buy another system for an S4 I'd definately buy one of these.

Maćku "flexi joints" to połączenia elestyczne, ta metalowa siateczka którą widać na downpipes. Właśnie jestem po montażu takiego zestawu (oczywiście nie tej firmy co na zdjęciach) u siebie i dało to duuużo.
Co do zawieszenia, to polecam Bilstein PSS9 bez kombinowania ze sprężynami. Będziesz sobie regulował i twardość i wysokość pojazdu i będzie to miało ręce i nogi. Przy opuszczonym maksymalnie zawieszeniu trzeba uważać na wszelkie wystające elementy naszych cudownych dróg ale prowadzenie jest na poziomie gokartu. Teraz, na zimę, podniosłem zawieszenie o jakieś 15mm żeby uniknąć uszkodzenia sond lambda, które po montażu wydechu trzeba było ustawić nieco inaczej.

Sorry, I've written some polish text for Sql. Just explained him "flexi joints" issue and recommended Bilstein PSS9 suspension instead of springs change.
Will try not to use here our complicated language (popular in Britan these days, isn't it?).

i must admit just because a system costs more (milltek) it is no better and sometimes worse than the cheaper alternatives. other companies have somthing to prove and so will try harder, estabalished companies will run on there name and don't try anymore. i have bought cheaper exhausts for all my cars and found there to be no difference,as a rule don't buy the cheapest or most expensive.
