New toys, more power

Post by Tomasz » Mon Oct 06, 2008 3:50 pm

After deciding not to sell my car (lack of idea "what should be after RS4") I've ordered hi-flow cats and downpipes.
And just received my new toys from Germany :P
After mounting this set and dynoing the car we were impressed... 592Nm (from 3200 to the very end) of torque and 445KM (without any ECU modyfications). Car also sounds different... more agressive and probably louder (B&B cat-back exhaust).
Next week will visit VTG to rig properly ECU. Hope will be able to present a dyno-graph.
It looks like getting rid of precats and stock cats plus installing downpipes is the most effective way to gain huge load of Nm's through the wide range of Rpms.

Cheers,
Tomasz

Great results!

Which company did you order these from?

Can you give a ballpark figure how much such set goes for?

You know I've been toying with an idea of getting rid of my RS4 for couple of months now and still cannot make a final decision. It really is a problem to find something to replace it without spending at least double the money.
I actually feel I'd miss it if it would be gone.

Now I think maybe it's best to keep it for winter and then do some mods in spring like PSS9, exhaust, some alcantara lining here and there, maybe some good polishing and detailing.

I am also thinking about getting my windows tinted - I know you also drive a nogaro one - did you tint your windows? I am wondering how it might look like.

Wonder if there's more nogaro ones now in Poland or still just our 2 cars.

I think my car doesn't need any exterior changes/tuning maybe except alloys from time to time (18 inch of course because of our roads).

Next week I'm going to re-tune my ECU after last exhaust mods and will make show of dyno graph. But nowadays I can feel the difference (592Nm of torque).

Didn't meet any other nogaro blue RS4 in Poland. It seems we are alone and the only ones :P .

Cheers,
Tomasz
