 Getting back on topic and putting inference aside, it would be interesting to hear of the results of the independent inspection and your feedback from driving her now that she is fixed Adrian.

HI Adrian

just out of interest what was the initial problem with the car, ie why did you need to go legal. if youd rather not say on the forum, perhaps you could send email, pclarke10@btinternet.com

look forward to hearing back

To carry on this thread for interested parties, the car is being inspected on Monday at APS - Ed Jackson (thanks 4th Gear) - Ben Williamson at Sportstech is taking it down on Monday personally and waiting while they run their diagnostics on it and then (hopefully) bringing it down to Torquay!

I will then be selling it! any ideas on price - Blue Nogaro X plate NEW ENGINE & NEW GEARBOX 0 miles!

How many miles have the rest of the car done?? Wear and tear affects everything!

ps. You keep referring to people as 'Fourth Gear'/'Fifth Gear'/etc. that's not their usernames but their post ranking. The usernames are the underlined ones. Blue Thunder ;)

Ricks,

I am very happy to share the whole story here - in summary as lengthy!;

CAR BOUGHT MARCH 2003 WEST LONDON AUDI 25,000 MILES.
DECEMBER 2005 - BOTH TURBOS BLOW - PUTTING PROBLEM DOWN TO AGE OF CAR AND 70,000 MILES AT THE TIME.
COST £2,371 FOR RECONDITIONED TURBOS (NOT AUDI).
JULY 2006 ONE OF TURBOS BLOWS AGAIN.
CAR TESTED FOR BOOST LEVELS.
FOUND TO BE "REMAPPED" RUNNING AT 23psi.
AUDI WEST LONDON TAKE CAR BACK, MR RAY CAMPBELL - OWNER WEST LONDON AUDI AGRESSIVELY ACCEPTS NO LIABILITY FOR NOT ADVISING ME OF SELLING ME A "RE MAPPED" RS4.
AUDI WEST LONDON OFFERS TO PUT BACK TO STANDARD RS4 psi ONLY.
I PROTEST & LOOK FOR EXPENSES TO BE REPAID; £3,000 AT TIME.
MR CAMPBELL SUCCESFULLY PALMS ME OFF AND IGNORES ME FOR A FEW MONTHS WHILST PROVIDING REPORTS TRYING TO PROVE THE CAR IS FINE
I COMPLAIN ALL THE WAY TO SYTNER CHAIRMAN / AUDI UK.
NO SUCCESS AT ALL.
AFTER THREATENING LEGALS ON THEM MR CAMPBELL ARRANGES FOR THE CAR TO GET SECOND OPINION AT GUILDFORD AUDI.
GUILDFORD AUDI SUCCESFULLY BLOWS ENGINE UP WHILST TESTING THE CAR.
MY LAWYERS BECOME INVOLVED.
LAWYERS SUGGEST A "INDEPENDENT SPECIALIST" REPORT BE OBTAINED; BEN WILLIAMSON - SPORTSTECH ENTERS NOVEMBER 2006
SPORTSTECH INDENTIFIES GUILDFORD AUDI GROUNDED THE CAR WHILST TEST DRIVING AS THERE IS EVIDENCE OF UNDERBODY DAMAGE RESULTING IN ENGINE FAILURE, FEB 2007.
MUCH LENGTHY LEGAL PREPARATION ENSUES.
LAWYERS ISSUE LITIGATION AGAINST WEST LONDON AUDI AND GUILDFORD AUDI UNDER "CONTRACTUAL BAILMENT"; MEANS NOT LOOKING AFTER MY CAR AND BASICALLY BUSTING ENGINE .
MUCH DELAY IN SYTNER/WEST LONDON AUDI/GUILDFORD AUDI LAWYERS.
SYTNER AUDI GIVE IN AND ADMIT LIABILITY ON BEHALF OF AUDI DEALERS SEPTEMBER 2007.
GO AHEAD IS GIVEN TO SPORTSTECH TO REPAIR CAR.
NEW ENGINE ORDERED (£14,331; SYTNER PAYS). PLUS (YET-TO-BE-AGREED) COMPENSATION.
DELIVERY DELAYED - MUCH CONFUSION AT SPORTSTECH. I WAS ADVISED DELIVERY OCTOBER 2007 - ACTAULLY HAPPENED JANUARY 2008
ENGINE IN MARCH 2008.
GEARBOX FAILS THE FOLLOWING DAY .
PARTS ARE FINALLY ORDERED FOR THE GEARBOX AFTER MUCH DELAY. THESE FAIL TO EVER ARRIVE.
APRIL 2008 BEN WILLIAMSOM NO LONGER TAKES MY CALLS.
COMPANY CALLED COMMERCIAL VEHICLE SOLUTIONS TAKE OVER THE MANAGMENT OF MY CAR.
MUCH DELAY UNTIL I FIND OUT OWNER OF SPORTSTECHS NAME AND CALL HIM.
OWNER SORTS PROBLEM AND NEW GEARBOX ORDERED AND ARRIVES EARLY JULY 2008.
CAR WAS READY LAST WEEK (APPARENTLY?). IT IS NOW OVER 25 MONTHS SINCE WE LAST SAW THE CAR.
.....

SAGA CONTINUES

Just out of interest, are those number plates anti-speed camera types as this wouldn't be the sign of a careful owner?
Am I undermining somebody's business and all the hard work they have put into developing it by inferring this? I don't think so and if you can't see that having illegal plates on a car is a bad sign well best of luck to you
Having read the thread, I must agree on both sides. It is not right to say anything that can not be backed up by fact.

On the other hand, if you have had bad service from someone, this must be the place to air your views, after trying to give that person / company a chance to put it right.

I am sure most Companies are able to fight there corner just as anyone else.

And by the way most RS4's in my opionion are illegal - mine is.....

Hi Adrian,

i have a couple of pictures of your turbos just after they were removed, if you want them I can send them to you by e-mail..

i have no idea how to get them small enough to put on the forum, but I feel that has to be decided by yourself.

Regards,

R.
