If the car is wiggling then maybe you have a bent alloy or a deformed tyre?

I know a guy whose old Sierra (now that's going back a few years) had a wiggle..in fact it made you feel sick to sit in the back. This was caused by loose suspension mounts at the back...when I say loose, I think the rear axle (yep days of rear wheel drive cars!) was held firm on one side and by the propshaft in the middle and the other side just floated free(ish)

Do you get a vibration when you drive or is it just a 'clunk' from the drivetrain when you change gear? There is play in the train and depending on driving style, you can make the car feel clunky.

This is probably more noticeable when you have cruise control on, if I understand what you're describing. With autopilot when the car accelerates and lets off the shifter will move back (decelerating) and forward (accelerating). I'd say it is normal.
