It has to be Nogaro blue....the "true" RS colour, and the only colour for the RS!

I had an S4 B6 avant nogaro blue for one and an half year and it was a great car , did look really good in that color and i had a supersprint exhaust ,the sound was fantastic. Very practical, plenty of room, well build, very strong engine but very firsty
I really did love it. you can get one now with low mileage for very cheap and i do not think they will drop on price dramaticly in next 2,3 years.
I did switch to an RS4 b5 witch is smaller, leg room on the back is rubbish, they look a little bit dated now, BUT they are mega fast and will give you a lot of satisfaction
The S4 is fast as well but feel a little bit heavy compare to the B5 RS
All depend on what you are looking for....
To me both are great cars, wish i did keep the S4 would have saved a lot of money...very tempting to do mods on the rs!!!!!!!!

So was the S4 more thirsty than the RS? i cant imagine either are very good though. I reckon ill start thinking the 23mpg i get at the moment is amazing when i change.
So how come you swapped to the RS4?
Gotta say R33 ive always liked noggy blue, thats what i looked for when i got my S3, just couldnt find one.

Yes the S4 b6 is thirsty, and more you try to drive "eco" (changing gears early) worse it is !!! Average 21 mpg. Better figure on motorway. It's a V8 4.2 so it not going to be great on juice But when you think about some subaru's or mitsu evo don't even get that and they have 2 / 2.5 l engines!!!

Fuel economy - sadly a basic law og physics and chemistry....if you want power or need to move heavy things then you will use fuel. There are quite a few threads about the RS4 fuel "economy" and I think it'll range from about 6mpog on track to maybe 25 or even 28mpg on a decent law abiding cruise. You choose your economy in between that depending on how you want to drive! ove the last 4 years I've owned my RS4, I've averaged 21-22 mpg throughout.

The B5 RS4 was often called a 'supercar' in the original roadtests, don't think the B6 S4 was
