Got my car back today gearbox rebuilt with new first and second gear syncros and syncro hub ,brand new clutch and lightweight flywheel,milltek cat free down pipes.Car is now back to full health(touch wood)and after doug did his magic seems too pull a lot better.I need to send out some huge thanks to all the people who got me back on the road as quick as they did.1st necarsulm for getting me the gearbox parts thanks andy,2nd Del at OLTON TRANSMISSIONS 0121 745 8089 for rebuiding gearbox and putting up with me (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) ,3rd Chris at mrc who worked until some ungodly hour last night putting it all back together ,chris i owe you one mate you really have saved my bacon,and last but not least doug as usual ive spent all week down there making a nucense of myself using his tools and getting in the way but no amount of questions ever seems too much .All in all THANKS GUYS ps cheers to woody who also tried extremely hard to get me the parts with very little notice.I now have a spare set of new syncros if anybody is interested.

Very very surprised not at all noisey,but its got a lovely howl to it ,but honestly in the car theres very little difference.

@ Jim, did you already have the Milltek cat-back on the car before you fitted the catless DP's the other day? Or did you get the whole Milltek system at the same time?

Aren't you running 100cpi Milltek downpipes? I would stick with that if you are.

That's it: reverse gears are straight cut while forward gears are helical cut. Helical cut gears are much quieter, although a little less efficient than straight cut.

No Mark, Milltek resonated cat-back, standard DP's with gutted pre-cats. Not sure whether the non-cat DP's will be too noisy as, at the mo, the cars my daily commute, and I run up and down to the Lakes fairly regularly.
