New Boy looking to buy in..

Post by WerkdRS » Mon Dec 10, 2007 10:11 pm

Im starting my research into buying into rs4 ownership. I will be swapping from a TT as soon as its sold.

1st question - can someone tell me the colours the b5 was available in ? Were there any specials (i know there's a goodwood green available)

2nd question - has anyone fitted the b7 seats into a b5 ? I have a set of these in my TT and would like to fit another set into my next car also ?

3rd question - Is anyone running the KW clubsport suspension kit ?...How do you rate it ?

Thanks D.

Hi Darren,

Looks like I'm not alone!
The B5 colours that I know of are:

Avus Silver (the best colour :greyrs4: )
Misano Red.
Black Pearl.
Noggaro Blue.
Denim Blue (rare)
Kingfisher blue (Uber rare)
Santorini Blue (Uber rare).
Imola Yellow.
Anthracite grey colour (don't know its name)...
Probably more will follow on from more experienced members.

Goodwood Green. forgot that one..

I have seen a picture of the B7 Recaros fitted into the B5 on RS-Quattro.

Cheers,
Des.

Yes have seen B7 seats fitted in the B5. Don't know the procedure. But I guess bolted to the floor due to the structure of the B7 seat.

Colours I think have been covered above.

There is a person from Sweden IIRC that is using the KW Clubsport kit. I think he said it was the same kit/based on the DTM kit.

By the way are you Darren from G-Werkes I guess?

I saw a B5 RS4 with the B7 seats in it last time I was at the Nurburgring, so assume they can be made to fit easily enough.
Golf R - with added MRC
Sprint blue B7 RS4 Avant - Sold
Ultimate Silver Nissan GT-R - Sold
Avus MRC 470 B5 RS4 Avant - Sold

Spot except its not pearl black, its a straight non matalic black, B7 was metalic.
From various articles, B7 seats can be fitted, but I have to say that my 70K mile B5 seats are far more comfortable than my B7 seats especially on long journeys.

Ah, okay, I thought it was a kind of metallic / pearl colour.... Quite unusual anyway.
Surprised to read that you find the B5 seats more comfortable as the B7 Recaro's look fantastic.
Would prefer the pole positions, more awkward getting into and out of though....

Yeah, I think so!

Darren, if you send SpaceCowboy a pm and ask him what is involved, I'm sure he will keep you right.

Recaros are probably a better option, I forget that the B7 comes with both Bucket and Recaros.... the buckets look great but are really not as comfortable as the B5.

I didn't realise that you could get two different style of seats in the B7, I understood that you could opt for the electric bolster type but thought the seats looked the same other than that.

Buckets are hard backed with fixed headrest and manually adjustable, Recaros are the leather backed with adjustable headrest and usually electrically adjustable everything.
