Gives it a nice review apart from the handling on B roads which I can kind of see his point.

He hated the mpg of it too!! Mine ain't too bad, compared to the M6 at least.

Anyway, woh's is it?

Does he really get people waving at him? I have had a few people smile, maybe the Avus looks more stealth and doesn't get the same looks as the Misano.

Likewise Denim Blue though the reason I went for a smart yet subtle colour was because I didn't want too much attention of the wrong kind and I get enough as it is, even my friend in his Goodwood Green example was flagged down by some chaps in a newish 5 series in M40 jam and quizzed!
Having said that, the minute I crossed the channel on the way to the 'ring in April the attention it received was all good natured and appreciative, even the Germans don't see many of them according to finger prints on my windows whenever I left it somewhere!

23.6 mpg long term on mine which I thinks OK, my S4 was no better and didn't look half as good!

I must say that out of all the cars I have owned, including a much loved fiat coupe turbo, my S4 and my old Astra GSi are two of the cars that lookleast dated.

The boy racer astra would hold it's own amoungst a bevy of todays boy racer specials, even if it were like 15 years old. 150 bhp then was propoer bhp. Especially in chassis made from papier mache and olf socks.

That was my post! The car belongs to a friend of mine who is local to the winchester area. I have advised him to join up, say hello and get the car on the register.

The car was handed down through the family, it needs a fair bit of TLC, which it will get in due time.....hopefully.

Get it to MRC for a remap and then borrow it!

It will give you a smile for a long time.

Seats

Agree totally, coming from a Porseche I feel like I'm sitting on top of rather than in my RS4.. Does anyone know if the Recaro Pole Position seats solve this?

Yep, as a previous Boxster and 996 owner, I totally know what you mean. The seating position, doesnt feel like its cosseting and holding you sufficiently, and its too high (for me anyway), at 6'3, even when its set at its lowest position.

The seat height was the first thing i noticed too, far too high! There isn't much support either when cornering.
I'm planning to fit the Recaro Pole Position seats too, i'm sure they'll reduce the seat height by at least a few inches.
They also look great, grip you properly and weigh a lot less than the standard electric sofas!
I wish Quattro GMBH would have made a stripped out clubsport option for the enthusiast like Porsche does. MTM have the right idea with their clubsport RS6.

The standard pole position mounts actually raise the drivers seat height by around an inch! However it doesn't matter (as long as you're not over 6' 4") as they hold you in so well on corners you feel part of the car.

I had low racing shells in my 944t, but I found it difficult to see through the back window of cars in front, which was a bit of a hinderance for visibility.

Is it possible to adjust the mounts so the seat sits lower in the car?

Only if you drill some holes in the side mounts!

Would it be possible to use lower mounts with the original Recaro seats? As in replace the OEM mounts with generic mounts?
