You could be right Paul its something i am going to have checked out, after i posted i went out and done what Nige said and there was a little bubbling from the bleed nipple and on pulling out of the drive they felt sharper. I also used a high power pressure hose and got it right in between all the components and some of the scratchy feeling has gone, but they are not to the standard i would expect or like, i cant stand it if everything isnt 100% to my liking. I believe so they would be at whatever the stealer set them at when they replaced the soft with the hard wheels. The ride isnt harsher you can just feel a few more of the bumps it feels nicer actually. Have been following this thread for a wee while , as i have just taken delivery tonight , of a silver RS4 !
I have to say i am alarmed by the spongy, soft feeling when stopping on the brakes ( last car was 993 mind you, which i had for 6 years)
I am intending to follow the well worn path of upgrading to the RS6 calipers/B7RS4 discs and pads plus braided hoses, and had a couple of q's:
what is the diff between the OEM, Audi, and Brembo for the calipers above;
are there any special mods needed for putting these on to the car
Unfortunately i dont have the easy option as you lot, of going to Doug , as i live in Hong Kong !
So want to give my local tuner a very clear note of what i need !
Although living in hk i do call scotland home !!! ( and how i miss good tuning specialist companies !)

Hi Graham,
You can always ask Doug to ship the whole kit out to you, which would include any necessary mounting brackets and so on? I'm sure Doug would give you a fitting guide too. Or if your local guy is going to supply the calipers and discs, perhaps Doug can supply the mounting brackets etc?

As previously stated on this thread - I've just had mine done by MRC. There is no modified brackets required and for that matter Doug stated that I didn't need any other hoses either. So, only parts required are the Discs, Calipers and Pads - bolt straight on as far as I could see!soapy_g wrote:Chaps

That's why I remember brackets being put on my car then!iirc brackets only required if using RS6/+6 discs as they have different offset to B7 discs

Got in touch with an experienced tuner in HK now, but the issue appears now to be that the RS6 caliper setup can make the back brakes and thus car unbalanced ( unlike my mind when driving this incredible turbo machine !)
Does anyone have any probs with their set up after the front brake conversion - or does everyone do a front & back, which sounds expensive and OTT for my road requirements.
