Has anyone bent a...

Post by Chrism » Tue May 20, 2003 10:19 am

I've managed to bend my left (passenger over here) side steering strut. I have no idea how this happened. Drove the car to a job and when I got back in, ABS and ESP lights on and the car was crabbing down the road!! No damage to rims?? Has anyone had any experience of this part failing??

Chris.

Only seen it happen on an old golf years ago, turned out to have been caused by a motocylcist or his bike, (once he had fallen of!) No other damage to the car!
Current: B7 RS4 Avant in Sprint
and 3.00 TDi Allroad (AMD Chipped to 280BHP but don't tell my wife!)
Previously:
2 x B5 RS4's in various states of tune from standard (no.93 out of the factory) to 480 BHP and 1 x early B7 RS4

Bog standard wheels...got my car back yesterday all fixed in rapid time, parts ex Germany. It's such a relief to have it back. My local dealer was brilliant. Everyone is baffled as to why though...???

I test drove a RS4 today from Giltraps. Jesus, that clutch is heavy when they are cold! They want $130,000 with 51km on the clock, in Silver Lake.

I'm real tempted, but are of the feeling the're about to come down in price, with owners moving to either the RS6 or the new S4 (now Aug).

Call me tight, But I would hate to loose 20G in two months.
