Simon..the tyres are pretty new all round so not sure how it got its bulge, there is no markings on the rim..the front discs and pads are brand new, so why not do the rears as well? the ashtray and the armrest is just trivial but its there to be rectified. This didnt put us off taking it home either, as for the missing undertray well the dealer is having an investigation as to how the car got through its pdi with these issues outstanding. :audibash: the dealer will be replacing the missing key. :beerchug: the cost of the rplacement ky is not directly related to the RS4, if you had an A2 it would stilll be the same cost.

We visit Leeds frequently so next time we are down I'll pm you and perhaps we could meet up so you can see for yourself . I didnt take your comments directly to heart, it was meant to be a more general comment to those thinking of buying an RS4 for the 20k bracket.
Other than that its a bloody excellent car

I had an Escort Cosworth from new to a few years ago and I bought it becuase it was a limited number run. It repaid me with 15.5k from a buy of 20k. That is a stellar performance (M Reg) and was sold to a dealer as well. And he waited about 2 years for it.

The point is that I bought & kept it as it was limited and people were trashing them at an alarming rate. With less than 500 odd RS4s made I would suggest that the car longer term will not only settle but raise slightly over time, as the good examples become rarer.

Just my experience.

Robert (who wished be kept the Escort if he is honest...).

I passed a parked one (Cossie) only the other day near Ilkley I think its called on the A65 from Leeds to Kerbie Longsdale, its not often you see them now.

The dealer has called back the car to rectify the shortcomings as described above, I think the technician has had his nads removed with a blunt knife by the M.D of the dealership, so the key replacement, the ashtray, armrest, undertray(!!) rear discs and pads, cruise control etc will all be replaced and sorted next week at their cost. so once this is done a BZ will be posted. The people who own this business were mortified when they were e amiled the list of things we found defective but theyre standing by thier word and sorting it out.

RobertH i can sympathise i made the same mistake 7 years ago,i sold a mint k plate cozzy for 14k and i reckon it would cost me 11 or 12k to buy one of the same standard even now. What makes it worse was i ploughed the cash into telecom shares which have fell flat on there arse boo hoo what a blob eh i loved that car.Anyway back on thread the spread on prices always widens as cars get older as its more time for the condition and mileage to vary, buying my rs4 2 years ago wasnt easy and must be harder now if you want a nice one anyway. But i bet its easier than finding a decent cosworth Ha Ha, I dont worry too much about values even though mine may go up for sale later this year, its survived much better than an m3 which was my other choice,Mine avus 57k 01 y plate im the 3rd owner previous one was a member on here stage 3 suspension shortshift etc etc and i would put it up at around 24k and wait for someone who wants a good one!Now i think thats about right but im sure others may disagree, overall i think an rs4 has been and will remain a good place to have your cash!
