am I missing something here? That seems to show that you have 480ish bhp? Not 430ish

Unfortunately there is no key to this graph. The clue is in the Max HP figure printed in the top right which suggests the HP line is 3rd from the top. From the previous post the top line is torque at 520ftlbs which is astonishing.

I'm no expert on this but, I've never heard of a remapped RS4 producing 520ftlbs from just a remap and exhaust!

Am I missing something?

This graph is very diffrent from my stock car. I achieve max torque very quickly and very low down in the revs i.e. from approx 160ftlbs to 365ftlbs from 2400 to 3020rpm and a very slow decline in torque of only 40ftlbs from 3020rpm to 6700rpm.

In contrast, your curve shows a very slow rise in torque at 3000rpm you have 280ftlbs and have to wait to 3700rpm until you get the full 520ftlbs. Then there seems to be a quite savage drop in torque across the rev range i.e 100ftlbs by 5500rpm.

Did MRC offer any explanation to this curve or why he seems to get such a massive amount of torque over any other tuner or the blip in hp at the end?

Red line=with precats, Bleu line=without precats!

Well i am not an expert on graph....but i can tell you i am just back from france and done 1100 miles on motorways there and it was bloody great , so much torque even in 6th .Would be interested to compare with a graph on a standard one. :D

A custom remap quickly shows if a car can do more than others and some cars like this will do a lot more torque. Of course you can have a flat torque curve but if the car is capable of a higher peak and the owner wants it then iwhy not?. The blip at the end is partly due to the rolling road with heatsoak at high revs - the boost compensation with unrealistic cooling can cause that - you don't get that on the road.

470 bhp and 490lbs...!!!!

Post by DamoM » Thu Feb 01, 2007 9:36 pm

Had my car rolling roaded today and the result was 470 bhp and 490 lbs torque to verify what I was feeling through the seat of my pants!

Just wish now that I had actually been able to get v-max into it for the remap as I might have been able to squeeze that little extra out of her!!!

Anyway, another well done to MRC.

Cool. Will prob take you up on that! Is there anything else that I should look at to optimise another remap, such as air filter etc etc

What do you think V-Max will allow you to do boost-wise? Currently the boost peaks at 1.6 bar. Or will it simply allow you to be more agressive with the timing map?
