Without looking up the sizes, can I just assume these won't fit with my 4 pot Movit's? :-)

Also worth mentioning that these things weigh in at 12kg per disc so it might be worth going on the slim fast plan before you get a pair ! They do look good, and fingers crossed they hold up to some abuse, but that's a heavy disc to be adding as unsprung weight.

I'd personally wait until Gordon gets back from Spa in October to see how they've coped...that will be a good test....

I've got the AP 6-pots. I've not yet tracked my car so never really extended them, but do get some judder when braking hard from high speeds. They still pull me to a stop though and I can't really fault them.

Will be interesting to see how these new ones shape up though.

Think I will have to let Simon loose in my car next week at Sliverstone. Do we know if spindat still has his AP's hiding in the darkest depths of his garage?

I have been to Spa twice (came back 10 days ago) with my AP discs and have done many other track days. The stopping power is almost too good. The big problem is heat. This year I had Phaeton cooling ducts and they have made a big difference. Highly recommended.

The judder is due to pad build up on the discs. It is ESSENTIAL that you warm them up with light braking for one or two laps. If you do that there is no judder.

I did consider the AP setup, but never heard back from an AP dealer when I mentioned I was interested in a set of fronts with straplines for an RS4! What sort of prices does a full kit go for?

David great to hear from you. Hope you are well, car now finally running well, had wide band o2 as a final check :biggrin3:

Back to topic, Nige the Ap fully floating seems the best option, glad I did not get fixed Aps.

One Bad dealer there, don't give up, hope your car is well.

Thanks all for the support.

I have Movit 6's on my car. First set of discs suffered a strange wear left inside -after 18 months and 25 kkm they needed replacement. 3 track days. No problems. I thought the wear on inside was due to some stone or similar which had carved a deep groove into the disc.

Bought new discs, fitted them to the old bell, drove them in, tracked -the discs cracked slightly on the inner side. Not healthy. I did try to cool them properly before going to pits, so thought this was strange. I got new discs + bells free of charge.

I notice you are running PRO pads, maybe this is causing discs to suffer?

I have not read about your disc problems, would you care to pm me about them?

Got to be Howard?? Giz a clue..G
By the way the discs are superb. Ive been giving them plenty.
FYI 2 full days on Spa 4 laps of the ring 2 months of testing on the road.
Discs are as new no cracking and perfectly true having run a measuring gauge to 1000 of a mil(I think!) over them.
I did make the mistake of running a non recommended extremely aggressive pad on my track days, but I had major pad deposits on the disc as a result. Not clever. But discs are clean now and perfect. Highly recommend solution for all you brembo / movit 6 pots.

Thank you AP , and they are British.

They did, how funny! Also they sure did stop. I guess my pads were just not a good match. Will get the pad recommended next time. :bash: Great discs no cracking and boy do they take punishment.

Ferodo DS2500 are the correct ones. Don't be tempted by the DS3000. I also recommend cooling ducts. That made a big difference on mine at Spa. The discs will start cracking because of heat.

Oh, and be careful, the inner pad wears more than the outer, so don't presume you have pad material left just because outer pad looks OK.
