Tyre pressure

Post by G11DOM » Mon Jun 19, 2006 3:32 pm

Hi,

I know this has probably been asked a 1000 times but when I try using the search I keep gwetting a refresh page and it takes me ages to find anything. :(

So was just wondering what the recommended tyre pressure is for the cars?

I have tried using 34 rear and 36 front which someone told me but this seemed to high.

I wouldn't say too high TBH.

For normal road use follow guide in users manual/petrol cap/tyre wall.

Some guys use lower PSI on tyrack days with different rubber too

Rec tyre pressures are 36 psi according the owners hand book, I run mine at 35 psi on the road, and drop it to 32 for the track...... I am using the same pressures for 18" and 19" tyres.

I am running 42 psi cold on bridgestone SO2 265/35/18. No more square rims. Just shaken passengers.

That's about right although I think the last I looked I set them all about 35psi

What made you think it was too high?

I work on the basis of tyre wear. If the edges are being scrubbed too much I would 'up' the pressure. If the centres were wearing more than the outside of the tyre. I'd lower the pressure, i.e. the trye is ballooning in the center.
