Just been looking through the past months of the forum and there is a little negativity about upping the hp because of damage it can cause to other parts, i dont wish to sound like my old lady but i dont want to chip it if a few months later i need new turbo's, chance you take i suppose![/list]

just for the record i have had my car remapped by DNA and found the whole experience to be excellent.. although i dnt want to pry into your bad experiences i thought i should add this as we all have different opinions and thoughts on tuners..

Well considering QST are the importers for MTM for the UK and Ireland "any other outfit" are going to be buying the products from Kim......
I've been dealing with QST for many years now and have never had any reason to seek an alternative supplier for MTM...always found the service good and the products top notch.

There are a few UK Audi dealers with links to QST who use and recommend their products,in much the same way as some have an arrangement with AMD,others with RSD(the Oettinger importers) etc.

Getting back to the topic in question I'd favour an MTM upgrade for the RS4, particularly( as mentioned by Phil T) if you plan on upgrading to stgIII spec at a later stage.Nice smooth map, never throws fault codes,no limp mode issues, pulls clean and strong all the way to the limiter while also being vice free at slow speeds,in traffic or when just bumbling along.
Yes it costs a few quid but as the old saying goes you get what you pay for.MTM have tuned a lot of RS4s and they certainly put every car or tuning product through a pretty extreme development and test regime before they launch it.
I've had three MTM tuned Audis in a row and see no reason to change from them or their UK importer for future vehicles.

Ok then are there likely to be any other importers or perhaps someone knows where else you can get the MTM product?

doesn't mean they are better though! in 3 years i've had revo, apr, custom code, superchips and then finally a mrc map which is miles ahead of the rest  only paid for one of the previous remaps btw.
LMFAO, No wonder you found MRC so good (no disrespect @ MRC btw) if you had Superchips prior to MRC this would explain.

My S4 (not RS4) is tuned by DNA and is absolutley superb, it was a generic remap but they also do a custom remapping facilty. The chap I dealt with is incredibly knowledgable and sorted out a bad chip for me that was supposedly good, flashed by one of the other very much recommended tuners on this site. If I was going more than a basic remap I would want to see a dyno used to work out what I had before and after the remap. Lets you see if you have any flat spots or dips in the torque or power curve that you cannot detect on the road. You can then work out what Rpm point in the map need tweaking on fueling or ignition etc. I would think a true custom remap is quite expensive though. I've worked with a mate on a few superbikes on a dynojet dynamometer and seen some jobs take days or more to get right. I'd recommend ringing the tuners and seeing what each has to say as we are all obviously biased.

Have to go with Bobjebb's experience. The 'owner himself' talked down at me, over the phone, like I was a spotty tenager.

Seems to me, the 'courtesy' he extends to customers is directly proportional to how much cash he thinks you are likely to be putting his way.
Not the right way to run a business (and he certainly won't be getting any of mine!) :knob:

well said stimp im with you on that 1 all the way..or shud that be all the DNA way..lets face it guys we,ve all used different tuners and all had different experiences and thats what makes this forum what it is..an excellent base for information good or bad..and yes money mite well play a part in decidin where to go,so lets not start knocking our tuners to much cos most of them are sit sponsors and if they decide to go eleswhere we,ll all be in the :dung: and the forum will end up having no site sponsors left to call.. :beerchug:

IMHO - I think all the usual suspects produce pretty good results, but I'd always recommend a tuner with a rolling road and the knowledge to custom tune also the most local one. Because when things play up, and they can and probably will over time (not nescessarly anything to do with a remap) you'd far rather drive a couple of hours than 6 or 8 to have the car checked.

'Plug and play' tuners while they may know the WHOLE car very well will never have the same kind of map knowledge the folks that write the maps doo.

So there is quite a few things to consider.

With respect to reliability concerns - there are more than a few S4/RS4 the world over running various states of tune I have yet to read about any which have suffered any damage as a direct result of a remap - YET! So in short I wouldn't worry about that. There is even a lad on here with an tuned RS4 with over a 150K miles on the clock! :bigwave:
