Re: B7 Fans - Welcome Back!

Lol, well here we are again. Ironically I stopped posting as much here because the RS4OC group was so much more active. Talk about about bad judgement by Rich...

Tell me about the 4G gloss carbon wrap??

What’s the difference
As far as I know, its the only carbon effect wrap available in gloss, and in person it actually mimics the look of real carbon fibre really well. Almost has a 3d look to it. Its good stuff.

Re: Callum's R8 Build Thread

The gloss black grille came today so fitted it. Took me about 4 hours all in all, it wasn't a very good fit, but for £400 i think it looks tonnes better than it did.

Re: Callum's R8 Build Thread

Good man. How you finding it? Are you happy? Does it feel like c.150bhp more than your B7? Finding it a lot of fun if not a bit scary at times. It definitely feels like 150bhp more, yes. One thing I'm not a huge fan of is how heavy the steering is at low speeds, it's like wrestling a bear. Once she...

Re: Callum's R8 Build Thread

So the work has been completed: Stage 2 MRC remap, custom exhaust with 100 cell sports cats, and high flow filters. The difference is amazing, I have to say Chris @ CM Tuning did an amazing job with the exhaust, its perfect. Not too loud, no drone, but much improved over stock and has a really nice ...

Re: Callum's R8 Build Thread

Had the roof and blades wrapped today. Roof is gloss black, blades are 4d carbon. I much prefer it.

Re: Callum's R8 Build Thread

Had it dyno'd this morning. 493bhp at the flywheel. Having used this dyno in the past I know it reads a bit under (approx 20-30bhp), and for a completely stock car with no carbon clean that's pretty good. However, I want to take the figure for what it is for proper before/after comparison, going aga...

Re: Callum's R8 Build Thread

Looks good and will be good to see the change. What made you buy this and sell the RS4? Cheers  I know if I kept the RS4 for much longer I would've charged it, and for the same money I was able to put down a decent deposit on an R8 - seemed like a no brainer when I thought about it like that.

Callum's R8 Build Thread

Those of you who follow the RS4OC facebook group might have seen that I recently picked up an R8, I'll be keeping my build thread here. The car is an immaculate 2010 V10 R8, 19k miles, brilliant red, fine nappa leather interior, bang & olufsen sound system, completely stock, very well looked after. ...

Re: Callum's RS4 Project

Yeah it feels completely different to how it did before - way more responsive, more pull, all around a totally different animal to before the map etc. So yes I am happy with it. I just expected a bit more, I'm not even back to "stock" at this point.

Re: Callum's RS4 Project

Supercharger? Which sorts cats do you have? If they are 200cell then they are mo less restrictive than the oem exhaust with precats gutted. But I'd expect around the 440ps mark for those mods. Who did the carbon clean? And without a proper MRC stage 2 then it all adds up to being slightly down on p...

Re: Callum's RS4 Project

Looking at the run I did in August (quite soon after the clean) it was 388 at the flywheel (https://forum.rs246.com/viewtopic.php?f=121&t=127839&start=135#p894105) however when I spoke to CM tuning about this result they said that RS tuning where I had the dyno done tend to read about 30bhp lower t...
