Re: MRC stage 2 advice

Looking at the website, it seems that the pre-cat might need mapping, in which case it might also need the rolling road doing again. If so, get them done together. This is what the website says: Removal, or gutting, of precats from your standard downpipes. The 400 cell precats are removed leaving yo...

Re: MRC stage 2 advice

I had stage 2 and nothing else, and have been very pleased. The greater power at the top end is not the main gain. The increased torque (which is a bigger percentage gain than the increased power) is more useful, and the full throttle in all gears makes the biggest difference in day-to-day driving. ...

Re: S Button Decal off ebay

Can you get it sent to someone in this country and get them to forward it? I guess it'd only cost two or 3 quid.

If you want to send it to me, I'll forward it to you for nowt.

Re: S Button Decal off ebay

There was a thread a little while ago (last 18 months, I suspect) - eBay is playing silly buggers otherwise I'd send you a link. You'll just have to have a trawl through these pages, I guess - apologies. EDIT: This place used to do them (I think it's where I got mine from), might be worth an email: ...

Re: S Button Decal off ebay

Funnily enough, it's only the Sport button that's worn on mine!

Re: Fitting new springs - DRC disconnect req’d?

The place that did mine doesn't have the capacity to deal with DRC, so no.

Re: Sitting lower at the rear, especially the driver's side.

Broken, I think. Hence wanting to make sure that hasn't caused damage elsewhere.

Re: Sitting lower at the rear, especially the driver's side.

It's a local indy - used them for many years and much prefer them to main dealer. Turns out both rear springs had gone - have asked them to examine the rest of the suspension to make sure this hasn't broken anything else - will get it back today. They always grease the DRC as well - there is some li...

Well, in being looked at - apparently there is a levelling sensor there too, so just a case of waiting and seeing...

Sitting lower at the rear, especially the driver's side.

The rear of the car is sitting lower, most noticeably on my side. No signs of DRC leakage, though I know it can need repressurising. Plan is (probably) to have DRC replaced, possibly later this year. Is there anything else that could cause this - knackered dampers? Does the car have separate springs...

Re: Low power and 6500 rpm limit

The RS4 has two fuel pumps, and that sounds similar to what happened when one of mine failed. The dips in power seemed to happen at the same point in the rev range, and changing one did the trick - the other is still going strong. There was no warning light.

Key fob failure

Mrs 12th's spare key has got a problem - lock and boot open both work, but open doesn't. Having taken the rubberlike cover off, the underlying button doesn't work, so I suspect a new key is in order. I seem to recall Audi charges like a wounded rhino for these - any suggestions or experience? Her ca...
