Re: Heavily leaning towards an RS6 C7.5...

I wouldn't say it is fairly common for dampers to fail. I can only think of a few on here that have had issues versus the 1000's that haven't. Sure, air sounds more reliable at this stage but I think DRC has a bad rep from the previous RS cars that have had it much worse. I had no trouble with mine ...

Re: Heavily leaning towards an RS6 C7.5...

You can just type the reg into one of the online checkers and it will tell you the BHP. https://www.rapidcarcheck.co.uk/results?RegPlate=fh63fku&SPEC=Yes This confirms it is 562BHP. Not aware of a VIN decoder; the first few letters will tell you if it is an RS or not, but not sure if there was a dif...

Re: I dyno tested the pipercross air filter

No surprise on the air filter, the original one is pretty good. I think it will only start to make a difference once you are running much higher power like on a stage 2 tune. I'd be more interested to see a stage 2 car do a run with a standard and aftermarket filter for comparison. Also, do any of t...

Re: Heavily leaning towards an RS6 C7.5...

You have to be careful with some of these sellers. That description is not of that car; It says it's a Performance, it isn't. Titanium wheels, no they're not Titanium trim, no it's matt Alu Matrix LED headlight, no it doesn't Dynamic LED front and rear indicators, no it doesn't. The milage and colou...

Ok, I see a lot of cars advertised as 2014 models being performance with 605hp. What are those?
No such thing. All 2014 and 2015 cars came with 560hp. 605hp wasn't available until the Performance version in 2016.

Re: Heavily leaning towards an RS6 C7.5...

I'm surprised you prefer the look of the Merc especially when you say the RS6 is understated. Along with the B7 RS4, I think the C7 RS6 is one of the meanest looking family cars around. Those arches on the 6 are big. Even more so when lowered with some spacers or different wheels.

Re: Heavily leaning towards an RS6 C7.5...

Performance was only available from 2016 onwards (I ordered the first week they opened the books early December 2015), which was 1 year after the facelift so there are no pre facelift 2014 Performance cars.

Re: New car day

when I had my car there was no known byte / bit in vagcom to get rid of the beeps. The seat belt warning was possible, stopping the handbrake coming on when open the drivers door could be turned off etc but not the engine on beeps. Pressing the left arrow button the on steering wheel will mute them,...

Only problem with an M5 is £100k + to buy new, next year only worth £60k.
You can get a nearly new M5 Comp for £65k. That's where my money would go.

Re: RS6 C8 on New Top Gear

I prefer the more aggressive looking models so M3 over the M5 looks wise, but would rather still have the M5.
E63 looks like a European taxi though.
