You can legally buy a device called a "Henry crank alarm mine". It fires a blank shotgun cartridge and is set off with a trip wire. Game keepers use them for poachers. And when they go off they scare the <beep> out of you (apparently it is illegal to put a live shell in one though, that's dangerous)...

Possibly, but I thought the limiter was electronic and therefore would stop the car at the same speed every time?

Nope. Same everything.

Found it odd that the first time I hit the limiter the clock read 172mph but this morning it wouldn't go past 167mph. Not a factory derestrict option either. Any ideas???

Motorway steady 20-22mpg

Budgeting £850 for fuel. But then again I didn't buy it for its environmentally friendly mpg. Option 3 sounds the way to go. The car is made for the trip:). Don't know if the wife and two kids will agree though;)

The most i ever got was 340 driving from Coulsden Audi back to Newcastle and I think this was only due to the average speed cameras planted most of the way up the M1/A1. Never seen above 16mpg since;)

Yeah, I'm happy with the results but I know what you mean. Once you start you can help but keep going over and over to get it right. But worth it in the end:)
