Re: New tyres

It’ll tell you Audi recommended pressures on the inside of your fuel cap, if you don’t have the sticker anymore for whatever reason I’ll grt a pic of mine and post it up.

Re: Where else can remap our TCUs?

What’s everyone’s thoughts on this response from a local Vag specialist?

Good morning,

Thank you for your enquiry.

There is no need to map both of them on this model. The gearbox used to have to be done in the early days due to the limiters but this can all be done through the engine ECU.

QST in Hayward’s Heath for me...been going 7 years - C6, 2 x B7’s and Golf R. Never had any issues.
QST can do the TCU mapping but want nearly double what MRC are charging :assflash: :assflash: :assflash:

Re: Car struggled on first start up.... but just once!

It can’t be the fuel otherwise it’d be persistent fault, from what I hear of late Tesco is better than vpower anyway... I don’t know what could cause it specific to this vehicle but if I had to hazard a guess? Had a similar thing a few years back with a Clio 172, it turned out to be the idle control...

Re: Where else can remap our TCUs?

Iirc, the gotcha is that the TCU requires a surface mount EPROM to be removed and replaced with a new one, it's not just software like on the ECU Yes I’ve heard that from a handful of sources now that a physical ‘chip’ needs to be fitted to the existing TCU board. Most probably why a lot of tuners ...

Re: Where else can remap our TCUs?

I know MRC offer the service but for reasons I don’t wish to disclose I’ve lost confidence in them. Can't really say that, then not say why . I'd use MRC for remapping without any hesitation, but not for other work. Heard plenty of bad press unfortunately, and not had the best experiences wit...

Where else can remap our TCUs?

I know MRC offer the service but for reasons I don’t wish to disclose I’ve lost confidence in them. Is there any other company in the UK, preferably South, who can work some magic on the gearboxes? I’ve made a few enquires and everyone seems happy to do the engine side but scratches their head when ...

Be interesting to see what they deem as an unacceptable level, I’d imagine this will affect bikers much worse than cars.

Re: Finally got new wheels on!

Really nice colour and iam a little bit jealous looking at those wheels. Can I ask what top coat you have on her ? Nothing special, Autoglym super resin polish followed by Extra Gloss protection. I do find a good wax brings out a little more shine and flake pop in Mugello blue but can never be arse...
