Re: Mclaren mp4-12c

F12 is hugely expensive though. lovely looking car!! I was looking at F430 (i do like the look of the F430) or Gallardo then stumbled across the 12c. They all around the same price but the 12c is just a bit more modern. On saying that 12c reliability seems to be suspect. Infotainment and gearbox iss...

Re: Mclaren mp4-12c

I have been doing a bit of research. WOW crazy prices for even an oil change. Would be cool car to have on the drive though. Parts seem to be the issue, nothing aftermarket which forces you to buy OEM gear at overinflated prices.

Wonder how the prices stabilise after losing £100k? Is the worst over?

Mclaren mp4-12c

Anyone seen the prices of these things? I never realised they had dropped so much. interesting prospect :smile_smoking: Were they not something like £170k new. Must resist  https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201905228217272?price-from=500&advertising-location=at_cars&postcode=ab451g...

Re: Misfire

good result. Get them to do the Oil strainer at the same time. It is 5 min job if they are doing the PCV. 8 hour job on its own

Re: 4.0TFSI Turbo failure

Sorry to hear. pretty poor design. Must be thousands of these engine just waiting to fail given they are used in various models all over the world. Not good. I miss my V8TT but not the pain it was causing. Turobs, injectors, valve springs and sticking oil scraper ring all issues that seem to be gett...

Re: Misfire

Yeah it seems that way. Glad I opted for the warranty now! You bought it used or new? It’s just turned 4 years old now. The misfire is not that bad and is not throwing up the engine management light. Hoping it’s just something like a dodgy plug or coil. I’ll hopefully have an idea mid afternoon if ...

I am really enjoying my wee RS3. Cheap to buy (compared to normal), run and fix when I break it 👍
And funnily enough it seems to dominate the TTE owner's league table.

It's pretty fast stock. I was surprised.

Re: 4.0TFSI Turbo failure

I also had a GTR-R35 and have had various cars trying to find a suitable replacement. Something not so in your face as the GTR. RS6, RS3(older one),S3, S7, M5, RS7 and now back to RS3. No car is perfect, but had you considered an E63S? Yes, but fed up spending daft money on cars. I am really enjoyi...

Re: Non Sports Exhaust

New RS3 will have GPF in the exhaust. Sports exhaust wont do much. They all sound rubbish. Not sure the milltek will do much either?

They changed this year. March I think.

Re: Rs3 sports exhaust

Need a remap to stop pops etc. You can buy a module to keep the exhaust valves closed 100% of the time. That would help but not stop it.

Re: Tuning Options

No reason now with APR, UNITRONIC, REVO and other 2 or 3 first level tuning brands. In my opinion. On the other side, JB4 if you don’t want a tune. Or anyone with Autotuner  Sure, but they need to know what to do 😬😬 Many pirates in this world! Thats a whole different discussion

Re: Tuning Options

Now we have MG1 protocol unlocked.... good luck and enjoy with all the options in the market. From where do you know that the it is unlocked now? HGP Turbo and MTM have access to the ecu since months, but charging more than 5000 € for Stage1. As I said above, any tuner with Autotuner can tune these...
