Re: Brake issues/advice

My car does have braided lines yes, but unless yours are faulty I'd spend that money elsewhere such as refurb rear calipers, an dclean up fronts as that will make a bigger difference.

Re: Brake issues/advice

If those are your discs right after a drive something isn't right. They should have been swept clean and shiny by driving. If it was stood after being wet for a day then its fine. You can tell if discs need changing if they have a lip on the edges. The discs are chamfered at the edge by around 1mm. ...

Re: Brake issues/advice

I would take the pads out and thoroughly clean the calipers. Take of any rust and dirt, especially where the pads sit or touches metal. Re-grease the touch points The rear brakes affect bite more than people realise. I put new seals on my rear calipers and it really helped, but a good clean up is th...

Re: B7 engine - what are these bits circled?

Ah I see. yes they are the inlet manifold gaskets. The OEM ones are a goldish copper colour. Some aftermarket ones are a plain steel type of colour.

Bank 2 is the right hand side as you look at the engine from the front of the car.

Oh I see. If it's just under the bolt head it is a washer.

Re: JamesBaby’s B7 RS4 Avant Daytona & Phantom

So the car went to Chris at CM Tuning in Halifax for the refurb of the suspension and installation of the DRC stainless steel hardlines. As with the previous Daytona earlier in the thread I used the Meyle HD kit which is a front end refresh kit which has uprated components. A non HD kit is available...

Re: B7 engine - what are these bits circled?

They are just the bolts that hood the intake manifold on.

Maybe due to age they get discoloured or dirty.

Re: Which coil packs ?

I would always use genuine, and recently replaced all 8 of mine just as ongoing preventative refurb of the car.

Yes it seems Facebook and even WhatsApp has overtaken the activity. You get notifications and quicker responses and they’re easier to use.

I have a B7 thread in Readers Rides that I keep updated though. :)

Re: JamesBaby’s B7 RS4 Avant Daytona & Phantom

Big refresh of the cars suspension booked this week. Nothing wrong with the car but I steadily built up a stack of parts over the year so I could do a preventative refurb. I’m changing the standard Super Sport DRC shocks to Super Sport Plus versions. 2MC & 2ME respectively on your options codes if y...

Re: High Mileage RS4's how much is too much

If the engine is running fine which can be checked with a compression test etc, and the gearbox is fine, the rest is just general maintenance.

You know the big ticket items and if they are already done that is very good.

Re: Edition White B7 RS4

Great stuff. Would love to hear what you think about noise in the cabin with flaps open but at 2k rpm or lower.

I do a lot of cruising and 6th gear driving so this is important to me.

My car is also going in this week for a full front and rear suspension refresh, inc front Meyle HD kit. :)
