The switch is fine at the moment but I believe it is the original switch. So intend to have it changed before it gives me any problems. My ...

Re: F125 picture

thank you

Do you think that a gearbox rebuilder like Chester transmissions etc would put a new one on as part of the rebuild cost or do you think or would that be deemed an ancillary?

Many thanks

... engine. 3 hours of running and it’s first oil change and it’s gotta come apart again. So nobody ever gets it perfect all the time. Anyway, my Chester box now has 16k miles on it in 7 years and it’s still sweet.

Re: Merry ***kin Christmas !

When my TC lockup failed, I sent the whole lot to Chester Autos. While the box was working fine, they did say a couple of the clutches were pretty worn.

Re: Merry ***kin Christmas !

Mark, Sorry about your gearbox, never good timing. Whilst I'm a long term customer (9 years of Unit 20) who I believe use Chester automatics, I got my last gearbox service done at http://www.autotransuk.com in Wembley. Was about £260 and if i remember right he was talking about £1500 ...

Re: Merry ***kin Christmas !

Hi mark. Sorry to hear you are having problems. Personally I would put it in the hands of grizz. And I believe they use Chester automatics. The just have sooooo much experience on our cars. Barry on the forum has recently had a similar job done. Just what you need at this time of year. ...

Can't you get in touch with Chester Automatics ? I think ? They do the job for around half of that as they don't remove the engine to do it.

Also if it's just the TC that's failed why the need for the box to be stripped ?
I think unit 20 use Chester Automatics for the rebuild.

decision time .fix., or sell as a non runner

... choices it seems are sell as a non runner or patch up and keep by having the crank snout welded up and get a recon box and torque converter from Chester automatics. My specialist says they could weld the crank but they are not sure how long that would last. I suppose my question is should I spend ...
