Re: Gearbox replacement, anybody used Mister Transmission ?
Mackie Transmissions in Glasgow is one.
Any ZF specialist can do it AFAIK. There are a few in the UK.
Mackies charged me 500-odd to test, repair and retest the VB.

Re: C5 Gearbox problem
... reason for trying to find out what is wrong is so that I can hopefully get an idea on whats wrong with the gearbox before I give a blank cheque to Mackie's or who ever will be carrying out the repair. It could be nothing or it could be something serious but apart from not going into drive when ...

Re: Re: Help please - gearbox issue - UPDATE!!
... a shame it didnt have the results we all hoped for. If you want to keep the car in Glasgow, then maybe A4Audi to pull and replace the box, with Mackie doing the overhaul would be a way to go, but tbh for something this big, you wont go wrong shipping the car down to Grizz.

Re: Re: Help please - gearbox issue / replacement gearbox
Thanks Sweggie - I have spoken with John at Mackie and he thinks the gearbox has gone.. tbf he has not checked the ATF levels but seems to think there would have been leakage signs.. He could have ran it through diagnotics but I have done that already.

Re: Help please - gearbox issue / replacement gearbox
... Have you checked the ATF? Did this happen immediately or have you noticed problems growing over time? You have a few options here, as there is Mackie Transmissions in Glasgow who are very well respected ZF builders.... I'd be checking the ATF level first, before anything though, as this is ...

Re: Time to break open the piggy bank again...
... warranty company dealt with mine although mine had thrown up 17125 error code - never in limp mode though interestingly enough! Had a look at the mackie transmissions link, look like they tick most of the boxes (zf authorised etc) but wonder if they have ever worked on an RS6? Only reason I question ...
