Suspension Knock - Advice Needed

Hi I've recently noticed a knocking sound coming from the front offside suspension particularly on uneven surfaces and it seems more so when turning left. I thought maybe a balljoint has gone so took the wheel off yesterday. All the balljoints seemed ok (no splits in the rubber or leaks) I put the w...

Thanks for the reply - just a couple of questions tho. Where is the charge pressure control? And how would I go about checking and cleaning it? Where is the VMT? I'm guessing its part of the turbo itself so would be abig job to check. As I said i'm planning to change all the hoses for silicone ones ...

Strange Happenings

Hello All, Last week I was on the M42 and put my foot down in 6th gear - the car just didn't seem to want to respond at all. I then noticed the temperature gauge was constantly moving between the normal 90 degrees and 60 degrees. i pulled over at the services and scanned for error codes and got the ...

Trig,

I have managed to knock something together for te Lumbar cable. I've attached a small pinion drive for an electric motor to the cable and it seems to be working. I will see how long thi holds out for. If it doesn't last I may still need yo to make me a cable.

Cheers, Phil

The wire has all frayed and the nipple is a type I've not seen before. I might have to try and attach a different nipple if I can't find a replacement cable

Tried a couple of cycle shops but they claim they can't put the nipples on the ends of the cable now. They are apparently machined on and not soldered anymore.

Anybody know of a decent cycle shop around the West Midlands?

Lumbar Fubar - HELP!!!

Hello All, My Lumbar support in the drivers seat recently went ping when I pushed back into the seat too hard. As These seats are not electric I thought it shouldn't be too hard to repair, so I took the back cover off the seat and it turns out the cable has snapped. Today I went to the stealers for ...

Cheers Guys

Just cleaned all the connections and reset the codes. Started it up - still sounded a bit lumpy at first but soon sorted itself out. Just gave it a road test and everything seems as it should be.

Great site

Cheers

Help - not running right

Just like to say hello as I'm new to this forum. Right now on to the serious stuff. I've just renewed the secondary water pump on my 1999 s4 following the instructions in the "How to" sticky. Everything went ok - job done until I've started the engine. Its running very lumpy so I did an engine scan ...
