The calipers assemblies are identical except for the finish, and an anti rotation pin which prevents the banjo fitting on the RS4 flexi pipe from rotating and loosening the connection. The the pin is fittend in a hole drilled in a boss cast in the caliper body. The boss is evident on both facelift S...

No pictures, but am told RS4 Aluminium uprights have a boss and threaded hole with which to fit a support barcket for the hose & wire. The standard A4/S4 uprights do not have the same facility. I am considering getting a bracket made which uses the main caliper mounting bolts instead. Zip ties doing...

Last time I went to GSF they told me they had stopped selling Synta of any colour. My local Audi dealer had one 5L can of Synta Gold, so I walked across the road to VW who had a line of the stuff, and sold it a few quid cheaper... I'll be going straight there in future unless SEAT sell it even cheap...

RE: Haynes manual
Re the manual. It is as you say partially usefull for body work, interior, some of the suspension components etc. But in line with the whole range the level of detail is poor compared to the older manuals.

RE: S4 to RS4 Front Brake Upgrade - Hose & Pad Wear Conn
Thanks Gareth,
Im pretty sure the threaded hole and pin don't exist on the S4 upright.
p.s. Should be getting those rears brakes on fairly soon having got hold of some splash shields!

S4 to RS4 Front Brake Upgrade - Hose & Pad Wear Connecto
I'm looking for solutions to support the flexible hose and the pad wear indicator connector, when upgrading from stock facelift S4 front brakes to stock RS4. There does not appear to be the facility to mount the S4 braket on the back of the RS4 calliper. I'm guessing the solution on the RS4 is diffe...

Second that. I have upgraded to B5 RS4 fronts but presently without the splash shields, and find that in the dry I have more confidence in them than the standard setup, but less in wet, as there is a nasty delay in brake effectiveness. This may be due to lack of splash shields and the time taken to ...

Thanks Jonny X.
Just in case anyone looks this up in the future, the RS4 B5 Rear Splash Shield part numbers are:-
8D0 615 611B
8D0 615 612C
And they are about 60 quid each.

Pics of standard front brakes please.
Bought a set of standard B5 RS4 brakes for my S4, and would be grateful for pictures of the standard installation, particulary support for the hose and pad wear indicator wiring, i.e. is there a bracket, or something on the splash guards (which I haven't managed to obtain yet...) to support them?
