FS - 98 S4 Avant - MRC map, ECS 4's, OZ Ultralegs etc

Unfortunately due to loss of a massive chunk of my overtime I can no longer afford the luxury of an Audi S4. Simply gutted to have to let her go for something ultimately more practical (and no doubt soul destroying) for the time being, so here she is... Nogaro Blue Avant 1998 (S-plate), pre-facelift...

Sounds like a bearing yes, that's the same sound I would have described mine as. Jack car up and spin the suspected wheels, the knackered one will show itself up as you will hear it grating/grinding. Mine had no actual play in it that I could determine by yanking at it. Got both rears off the ground...

Could also have EGT faults logged that need fixing/clearing, that can reduce power considerably I found.
The TBB broken also it is hard to hear it with doing a pressure test, certainly nothing I heard when mine had a very small tear in it but again affected the power output noticeably.

RE: rubbing brake pads

I had some issues after my pad replacement the other week. Resolved it by taking the disks off, liberal dose of brake cleaner to the hubs and the inside of the bells and refitting.
Got the impression it was some grit or similar had gotten behind them causing it to rub as it went round

Colly 915 without a doubt. A big proper blind test was conducted on 6 top waxes last year on Detailing World. All cars indentically prepped and of the same colour/condition/model. Swissvax Best Of Show came tops, with Colly 915 a close second on the opinion of all who attended the meet on the day. T...

RE: Running Costs

Car costs around 3 grand a year to keep on the road without problems. That's petrol (20 mpg is average, £1 a litre, 10k miles), annual service at independent VAG guy (upto £200), insurance (£550), road tax (£190) and MOT (£60). Petrol is by far the biggest cost on the vehicle. But remember this is w...

RE: Re: RE: Found a Picture.

Front pre-cats - no issue with MOT time, mine sailed through this year with the RS4 system and decatted fronts. Why not go for a second hand RS4 system? I ended up replacing my Milltek with one when the missus destroyed it on a bump last year, seems fine though the fit on the tail pipe is not great....

RE: Powerflex bushes - is the ride harsh

I find no issues with them, the ride still feels pretty fine to me with them on, though I did come over from an Integra which was a lot firmer feeling. Get the odd squeak now and then where they could probably do with regreasing or something, no biggy. I am not certain where I have the bushes as the...

Depends on the wheels TBH. The old wheels I had where 18's but didn't fit the brakes, the new wheels do in the same size.

RE: rear diffuser reconditioning

Aerospace 303 is pretty good, but streaks a bit when it gets wet - its also stupidly expensive. However, think I am joking if you like, but peanut butter works pretty well if its caused by polish residue! I hear you can get similar results with groundnut or peanut oil too, which would be better stil...

RE: Integra Type R meets baby

Well, you are luck matey, I did the exact same move myself - DC2 to S4 B5 for the same reasons. S4 as you rightly guess doesn't come anywhere near close to the teg in handling stakes, its rugby player versus ballerina there. The costs on insurance and servicing are comparable to the Integra, fuel is...

RE: Maximum Brake With Precats!

From what I remember on previous posts with K03's the difference is around 10-15 bhp I think. I was running 315 with Milltek and precats in, sure others without where up to 330ish.
