I viewed the one at Keighly trade centre yesterday that's up for £7.5k I would strongly recommend you Google "keighley trade centre" before buying anything from them. I'm not going to name-and-shame or anything here, but there is a good deal of information you might wish to be aware of, and it's fr...

Re: RE: 2004 S4 AVANT IN GOODWOOD GOING CHEAP!!!!!!!!
you mention £4k under priced, that puts it at £13k, these things are struggling to go at £10k in perfect working order In fairness, tiptronic cars seem to be holding their value a bit better than manual ones, but you're right in your assessment. I've watched better specced (RNS-E), similar age/mile...

RE: Are my tyres worn out?
The minimum tread depth is, IIRC, 1.6mm. Tyre manufacturers and other organisations recommend you change at 2.0mm, but then again that's like Kellogg's recommending you buy a new packet of cornflakes when your old one is down to 20% full. When you say "1.4 legal tread left," do you mean it's 1.4mm a...

chunky, I thought people would be fighting to buy S4's. What on earth is going on? Petrol is averaging 118p per litre, Band-K immunity isn't guaranteed come the next budget, insurance group 20, expensive servicing/parts/repairs, recession/credit crunch... The list goes on. It's a steal at £10K, but...

It had always been "not quite right," but it's started to get worse. It's the synchromesh on second gear. I've had a quote from Fraud to fix it (£900) and from an independent (£700). It's kicked my hopes of changing car this year into touch. For anyone who is interested, I managed to beat Ford down...

I think yours know's your thinking of changing her and is playing up to p**s you off. Hope the gearbox isn't an expensive one for you and it gets sorted soon. LOL, that thought had occured to me. It had always been "not quite right," but it's started to get worse. It's the synchromesh on second gea...

Cant believe we both still have ours for sale as well david. I'm going to hold out for an auto I think. Also, my Mondeo has developed a gearbox fault, so I'm going to have to get that fixed before I can sell ( ). Concerning why yours hasn't sold - it's a v. nice, clean car, but if you look on...

I always thought auto's drank more? That used to be the case, back in the 80s. Modern automatics are better than manuals for fuel consumption, particularly the newer DSG and twin-clutch gearboxes. The official figures for the S4 Avant (B7) suggest the auto is better on fuel: Auto - 15.8 / 23 / 31 M...

Real world MPG - Auto vs manual
I'd set my heart upon an automatic avant, but given the lack of nice, affordable ones on the market, I'm having to re-evaluate that decision. My decision was partly fuelled by laziness, not wanting to swap cogs by hand any more. However, it was also fuelled by the official figures that suggest on th...

I'm in the market for an S4 Avant at the moment, but I was looking for a standard car (maybe with Milltek). I have been looking for an auto, but there don't seem to be as many around as I expected. There's one not far from me, but I went to look at it the other day, and it was an overpriced, tatty m...
