RE: Steering wheel fault codes

Okay, that got rid of the telephone code. I tried that before but apparently you have to shut the car off, remove the key (so bluetooth disconnects), THEN turn it back on and the code will clear. What a pain!

Still have the steering wheel "improperly coded" problem. :(

Steering wheel fault codes

I installed the European sport wheel into my US car, and am receiving some faults. Can anyone help?

1. The steering wheel says it's "improperly coded". (06021)
2. The telephone module is saying it can't talk to the steering wheel. (0010877)

Basically. If you live over here, though, the only things you need to swap are the steering wheel (most important) and maybe the seats at a later date.
I can live without a start button... *debates retrofit* :D

RE: RS4 price in USA....

The US version has S4 seats and steering wheel, no start button, you'll have to swap the Radio for it to work properly in Europe, and there may be different emissions standards / fuel programming. Plus, it'd be LHD and there's the cost of shipping.

That sounds like the same product as the VW iPod Adapter.
I had it in my GTI and it did those same things... the adapter is terrible and overpriced. Find something aftermarket by Dietz or something and you will have better luck. Some of them even let you keep your CD Changer hooked up via a switch!
