I've just spoken to a main dealer services dept. about maybe popping in to have the G62 sensor replaced.... Firstly, they insisted it undergo full diagnostics - ok, fair enough - but it would be an hour of labour - £126 + VAT, before they decided what would actually need doing... So then I asked if ...

so it's a cheap way of protecting yr turbos and engine in case you (or YTS boy at Listers) don't let them cool down sufficiently?

Hi all been away a while but back now... My question is this - over the last few weeks the RS4's front fan has been going for at least 5-10 mins after I have turned off the ignition. It doesn't matter whether it has been on a long run or only been out for 5 mins, it happens every time now. Oil and w...

RE: It

Possibly dumb but relevant question - if you rev the (already warmed up) engine in neutral, what happens to the turbos? Do they spool up? Do they generate boost pressure? If there was nasty turbo noise, would it be audible with the car stationary but revved??

Hope this makes sense...

RE: Ticking noise under load - diagnosis.

Sounds exactly like a CV joint having gone - they then leak the lubricant and tick or click when the wheel is turned (eg in a multi-storey) when turning.

£250 from a maindealer!

Turbo related codes

Hi all

What sort of codes would a knackered / failing / noisey turbo produce? In other words what should I see from vag-com if there is a problem? Or can they go without throwing any codes??

I wouldn't mind seeing that piccie - you can post it if you can cover the plate...
