So there is a cost of (IIRC) around £500 for the gearbox removal and replacemrent I would get a specialist to diagniose t...

Well low mileage lotus Elise's are going on ebay for about £13K but I'll probably wait a while as winters fast approaching.

Still tempted to get into a used RS4 too!

Well as yet I'm managing to save quite a bit - seen a couple of Skylines on ebay with c500Hp which go me thinking and I thought a Lotus Elise may be good fun but haven't decided yet. Also seen a couple of RS4 going through British Car Auctions but I don't know how much they fetched but haven't they ...

Hi Dave - well apparently he was actually covered by insurance after all so I shouldn't have any problems there but we'll see. Regarding the breach of contract my solicitor felt that this was a clear breach but the judge didn't agree. Small claims only covers about £230 legal costs but I got a coupl...

Don't know if thats such a good thing - I was getting used to the "handle"

Everything else is fine - just been really busy over the last few months hence not as much involvement as I'd have liked on here

This whole experience over the gearbox made me realise one thing - cheapest is not always best and in many cases it is actually the worst option. If AmD had removed and refitted my gearbox there would have been no problem at all. That is a fact. I know the work would have been first class and worth ...

Thats right - your eyes dont decieve you! I recently sold my Bling mobile and I must admit to feeling a little sad seeing her go. Despite all the negativity attracted by the car for being too bling and flashy it proved itself to be a real drivers car and I had loads of fun in it as some of you will ...

Herts and Beds Transmissions - AVOID!

Some of you may remember me having my S4 gearbox repaired by Herts and Beds Transmissions way back in January 2003. There was a twisted input shaft, which had been replaced at a labour cost of £688 plus parts. Six weeks later I discovered why the bill was so low as the gearbox was literally hanging ...
