RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Seen a few posts re leaking shocks.....
Went through the 3 months of the road DRC saga with my Rs6 avant 3 or 4 years ago. Swore that was the end of German cr*p engineering for me. Made a mistake 18 months ago and bought a new Rs4 avant. 20,000 miles in it and a few weeks ago felt the same handling quirks as I had felt on the Rs6. Sold it...

Been following this with interest. My Rs6 Avant was off the road for 3 months a few years back with DRC valve problems. Bought an Rs4 Avant Oct 2006 as I understood Audi had solved the suspension problems. Now I find all these problems you are getting that are just the ones I had several years ago. ...

RE: Re: RE: EXHAUST WITH SPORT BUTTON
there is a flexible pipe to each exaust from a unit located under the near side (I am talking about a RHD UK Avant) rear boot. If you lift this section of the flooring there is a unit which supplies the vacuum for the seats and exhaust. The vacuum opens the valve (for more noise) and tightens the se...

I randomly had the same problem. Had the car at the dealers the other week and they downloaded some new soft ware and the clutch take up from start off was much smoother, gear changes, both gentle town and quick power ones, was good and smooth and the brief total loss of power when changing into sec...

RE: Re: Leaking shocks
I am having a nasty deja vue feeling. All those symptoms are the ones that led to my Rs6 being unuseable for over 3 months because the dealer was unable to diagnose the basic fault which was the DRC valve. Went over to Subaru for a year but have had a Rs4 avant since Oct 06. I will be following this...

avant, 9,000 miles since sept 06. most days does a 15 mile country lane into town commute with a number of 150 mile motorway journeys. no track days yet. my commute average is generally over 20mpg (my Rs6 was 16-17 over the same route) and on long trips I get 23-24. The No.2 trip, which I have never...

having had an rs6 with DRC problems and a major 3 month repair saga, with bad (understatement) dealer and Audi uk support) I have to say that I am waiting for my Rs4 to develop the same problem. I understand it is basically a very similar system and I think that there is/was? a steel and alloy washe...

fitting full harness belts
I want to be able to fit (on a temporary/easily removable basis) a four point harness belt for track days, not particularly for safety but because it is so much easier to drive well when one is fully located in the seat. I note that in the rear seats, in an ideal location, are the fittings for what ...

RE: RS4 Alloy Refurbishment
This company may be too far north for you but I have had no problems with them over a number of years with different wheels, my only caveat is that if there is an issue with matching the colour of our rs4 wheels you need to query it. I would be interested (in case I kerb mine) as to your final solut...

RE: Using a specilaist garage vs. dealer network
Iam not certain of the legal answer but whilst I think you are right I suspect that Audi could be awkward. Perhaps ask the specialist garage what their experiance is of this situation and see if you can speak to an existing customer of theirs who had need to go back to Audi within his/her warranty p...
