Dont get to bothered about there are many places doing exchange turbo's from £250. and worest case ebay from time to time have them normally going for as little as £150. Fitting is easy about 30 minutes. 30 mins for a turbo?? you serious? it took me about 6 hours to change the ko3 on my ibiza cupra...

if its anything like the 1.8t engine it could be you are hearing the electric water pump running, this pumps coolant around the engine and turbo for 10 minutes after you stop the car.
