Re: S3 RR Results from AmD today,

I've seen the names they've been calling GolfTTish and frankly the whole thing is very childish. Mind you anyone who calls himself Wando must be an authority on silly names... and here's me calling myself MushroomMan. Oh well. We'll have something sens...

Re: S3 RR Results from AmD today,

Well okay but my mate who attended said it was a good day, and what really made it work was the enthusiasm of the attendees. This disguised a number of short fallings - not least the lack of hospitality - hot food, coffee, etc - RS246 note for future. AmD did well to get through the reserve list, i...

Re: S3 RR Results from AmD today,

Ok then, but SITAS3 was running High Boost 6 and got 307lb/ft...

So what are you gonna say about that?

Re: S3 RR Results from AmD today,

True - 290 lbs torque is acceptable; not as high as other readings for comparable set-ups... Bygone got 311 lbs running Revo.

Re: S3 RR Results from AmD today,

That's seriously under power? I can't believe you can't feel it too, surely?

You're running Revo?

Re: S3 RR Results from AmD today,

Mushroom man your mate must be Bruno then? (Golf Bygone) Dunc

Yeah, and there's another weird bloke come to think of it!
(Don't think he'd bother to deny it either).

Anyway, you have the same set up as him, so pretty comparable on performance?

Re: S3 RR Results from AmD today,

It was a good day at the Rollers I hear. My mate got 265bhp and 311 lbs/ft torque with his Revo chip plus AmD viper valve. Running lean at the top end however. Apparently there was a strange looking guy offering people paint stripper from a hip flask and spreading sexual innuendoes about the AS.net ...

Re: Revo your s3!

I haven't measured mine lately but I strongly suspect it is considerably longer than everyone else on this forum. I am forever in demand and my problem is I find it very difficult to satisfy an extensive queue of young female admirers.

Re: Classic comment

Well we've survived a full year with the S3 and baby Louis, but I must say there's little room in the boot for tricycle, pushchair, ruckcarrier, changing bag, childseat, etc, etc.

Looks like it's an RS4 for me pretty soon...

Re: ESP ?

This thread seems to have gone a little off course but an entertaining read all the same blah blah blah It also now has me wondering if the UK models are different to the timeline in the US for the other "improvements" large...

Re: ESP ?

So if you drive with ESP off, you have taken the decision to deactivate a safety feature. If you have an accident and this fact is revealled (someone needs to check this with VAG-COM...), you may potentially be held as negligent. I seriously doubt that a negligence claim would successfully hang on ...

London, the Midlands and Hertfordshire. And no I'm not a serial bigamist before anyone suggests. I'll have to check my dates.

Re: Revo trials and tribulations

MushroomMan, if you are coming to the AmD day, I'l sure you'll find a drive in a Revo / AmD and perhaps APR car, the best and only way to assess performance and driveability. Agreed it's the best way to compare. Unfortunately I'm abroad on that date but would be interested in attending a meet somet...
