Headlamp adjustment

Hi all I've just convinced a chum to join the RS4 family. There is one problem on his car which needs sorting which concerns the headlamps. The auto-adjust does not seem to function, which is I understand not unknown, so it will need "proper" attention. However there are adjusters for both main & di...

Servicing

Its that time again and the service light is blinking at me. I'm not keen to go to a main dealer so is there a good Audi specialist who knows RS4's around the Guildford area?

Thanks

Re: TMC available for Audi Nav system!

Well I've now heard from Dan at Tvwiz. He states that his upgrade does NOT change a 3.x system to 4.x and indeed this change can not be made. So as my hardware version is unknown the only way I can find out if the later maps work is to try one. Anyone got a "backup" copy I can store offsite? [img]im...

Re: Bendy wheels replacement

I ordered through the dealer who were pretty cr*p and after a few weeks I contacted Audi Customer Services which seemed to "unblock" things!

Re: TMC available for Audi Nav system!

Right, I checked my system last night and under the "version info" bar I found not 3.X or 4.x but the following: Hardwareversion Navigat Softwareversion 0102 So we are no further forward. I'm going to try emailing the guy as tvwiz to see if he knows the answer to the 3.X/4.X stuff. NigelJ

Re: Bendy wheels replacement

I asked for a set of hard wheels a year ago and then ditherd about losing the lifetime warranty. My dealer let them go to someone else and then about 6 months later I actually made my mind up and reordered them. There was no problem getting them.

Re: TMC available for Audi Nav system!

Thanks for that info. I have done the tvwiz upgrade on my september 2000 registerd RS4. I'll look tonight and see what version the unit now is as I'm sure it was the old one before because of the age of the car. The teleatlas site also indicates that a pre 11/00 car will have the 3.X system. I, like...

Re: TMC available for Audi Nav system!

Thanks for the clarification! I was VERY confused.

Will you please advise exactly what I need to do to see the firmware level on my unit.

Thanks

Re: BATTERY PROBS

I've has this twice. First time I got a new battery under warranty and last time, just a few weeks ago, I just charged the battery & its been ok since but I now carry jump leads in case. I suspect its something to do with the alarm system but I'm not sure. However I only left the car a few days not ...

Re: tramlining in RS4

It's the Pirellis. I had the same and changed to Goodyear F1's and the prob immediately went away.

Do you have a smelly cat?

This happened a week ago. We were coming back from a firework show and stopped for some grub. When we got back in the car it stank of hydrogen sulphide, which I think is something that can happen with cats. Anyone know why or what the significance of this could be? Its happened twice since.

Speed Cameras

This may not be news to some, but there are new SPECS cameras on the M4 between J12 and 14/15. These are the new digital types which clock your average speed between 2 points and use no radar so are not picked up with conventional detectors. They also don't flash. I guess Morpheus, etc will get them...

Re: Preparation Of Rotors Pre Fitment?

I can see that this might de-stress the casting but there is a fair possibility that the disk will then need grinding flat. But after that I'd expect it to survive better when leaned on.
