soft /hard wheels (sorry)

I have friend with an RS4 who's previous owner had harder wheels fitted. The thing is he has had 2 split side walls in the last 6 months one on the inside of the tyre? He also now has 2 buckled wheels. Now someone told him that someone told them that some hard wheels have been replaced under warrant...

Along with other Audi projects I am blessed with a Ur Quattro which has among other mods a 6 speed 'box. I was using a RS2 clutch & pressure plate with a one off alloy flywheel.
