replacing central locking pump
Hi all, Having searched the forums it looks as if my central locking unit has bit the dust (no central locking and no leccie windows, lights by doors locks also no longer flash) Wondering if replacing the unit is the kind of task a novice can take on? If all it involves is taking out a few screws th...

oil temperature guage problem
For some reason the oil temperature needle on by 2000 S4 will all of a sudden drop to the bottom end of the scale. Sometimes, after driving for a while it will slowly rise back to the correct temp. Its seems to be quite random, sometimes it does it, sometimes it doesnt. havent noticed the performanc...

RE: Car transporter v
Im sure you can tell your insurance company to use a repairer of your choice, think you just need to get a few quotes. I would get it done by a company that specialises in Audi. Sometimes the Accident Repair lot may not be able to identify problems with the engine etc, if they dont know the car that...

RE: Re: RE: Optimax now 99.9 ltr
Recently started using BP Ultimate on my s4, its been returning me at least 20-30 more miles on a full tank than Optimax does. I think the Optimax in my area is crap quality, i'm off it for good now. I paid 99.9p for BP Ultimate in Wimbledon this morning, its 97.9 at the Hampton Court BP which i thi...

factory alarm is crap, my door bell is louder than the standard alarm. Went with a clifford on top of the standard alarm. As for fitting kill switches, hiding keys, etc, i think its a good idea to just let the thief take the car. If they want it that bad they will break into the house and come and w...

I would be interested in the H&R front and rear arbs also. I did go to AMD a while back to have these fitted but held off when they told me that they had problems intalling them on S4s (i was told that on another s4 they did the arb was hitting the driveshaft) . Not sure if this was truth or not but...

RE: RS6 19
19" should be perfect for the s4 as long as you lower the car. Dont worry about rolling radius. As long as you change tyre profile accordingly you probably wont notice much difference. Tramlining may increase with a wide 19", also if the wheel weight is heavier you will be increasing the unsprung we...

RE: Re: RE: RS4 Suspension for S4? Is it good?
I actually sat in a golf that had H&R race suspension on, i found it a bit too much for everyday road use. I found the H&R comforts to be a great compromise. Its is miles better than stock and completely transforms the car. You just dont get the harshness of the race setup with the comforts. Seeing ...

RE: RS4 Suspension for S4? Is it good?
ive tried the rs4 suspension for a while on my s4, its a definate improvement but can be better. Made the car look more raised at the rear end (because of the xtra rear weight of the rs4 avant over the s4 saloon) and lower at the front. Still dipped, dived and wobbled just not as much as standard s4 ...

Dead battery
I recently decided to stop driving my s4 as my an every day car. Having it parked in the street meant it kept getting scratches etc so i retired it to my dads driveway. I have been driving a 1.1 saxo for the last four weeks (loving the mpg). Yesterday i remembered that i hadnt moved the s for almost...
