RE: RS4 Avant or M5 Touring - anyone had both?

is the SMG box really that bad? I'd have thought it would be okay - though I've not actually driven a recent SMG yet. The gransports Cambiocorsa (F1 box out of the F430) is odd at first but once you get used to it is both rapid & easy to live with so I gues the question is - bad or just not used to ...

RS4 Avant or M5 Touring - anyone had both?

After a gap from Audi (for good reason!) and a spell with something nice & italian, I'm looking at getting something more 'practical' Short list so far is an RS4 avant, S6 avant (V10), M5 touring (V10) or a disco 3 (yup) all second hand around 2006/7. Whilst I know it's not quite going to be objecti...

Hi Clive, yup, you are right. Audi UK washed their hands of it all & Colebrook & Burgess' (Audi Newcastle) liability insurers paid out (wrote the car off) Apparently other than possibly slightly higher premiums & an ear bending from me, Newcastle Audi seem to have 'gotten away with it' as you say. O...

Thanks for the responses guys, I know every company has bad dealings but in the space of a few months the same dealer failed to bolt one of my rear drive shafts in correctly which resulted in it coming out when I was driving along! & then the cambelt.. both by different engineers! This I can underst...

I got a fair market value for the car & the savlage has gone to a good home (one of the guys from here) New car arrives tonight & so the end of one but the beining of a ...

what ever you do don't just take the cheapest option.. I had the main dealer leave a bolt in the timing covers & write the car off as a result :(

et all - looking for 2.5k for it all, as it is, complete. It's way too cold & time consuming to be breaking it.

All, just a quick update on this. I've finally received an offer from their liability insurers.. it's only taken 6 months so far lol Hopefully I can get their valuation up to an acceptable level & can go on my way. Quick valuation...

Following the cam belt snapping on my car & pursuing Audi for it, I need some valuations to compare their offer with. I was expecting 8-8.5k for a very well maintained, lovely condition car but they've come back with 6250. what's realistic for : A Red S4 avant, had 92/98k (I can't remember) miles on...

S4 splitting?

Righty.. I've been quiet on here for a while due to an ongoing argument with Audi over a snapped cambelt (courtesy of an extra bolt in the timing covers). I have the opportunity to buy back the salvage.. but at a cost.. Anyone want a 1998 S4 Avant, complete, as is, snapped timing belt, front all str...
